From the directions we assumed that the accommodation was very close to the centre, ie. within walking distance. More comprehensive directions from the main train station/bus station would have been handy. ... During our stay we were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for Paolo. ... My children had trouble sleeping due to close proximity of the railway line. The trains continue to run through the night, this should be mentioned in the literature. ... Excellent, very stylish accommodation with friendly hosts, close to local shops and an ideal centre for visiting Florence.

Rooms clean - friendly helpfull staff ecpecially Paolo who gives lots of handy advice and tips for getting around Florence. There is no breakfast dining room its a pre-packed continental breakfast on trays left in your room! You can also hear the trains pulling into station during the night but that didnt ruin our sleep. Its 20 mins walk to Dome square but thats ok its nice to walk off dinner and wine on way home with an ice cream in hand. overall i would say its fine accomadation for the money if you expect more maybe you should spend more? and if like us your out sight seeing all day its fine and staff very helpful with local knowledge.

Paul was amazingly helpful and polite, set up dinner for us at the local place he was going as we were starving. Proper Mediterranean hospitality! Will be back any time! 20 minute walk from town but relatively easy to get around. ... Nice and quiet B&B,Close to the tracks but that is not a problem as the train does not go by very often. Lovely, very very clean and with bags of character. The owners were most helpful! ... The girl at reception provided us with maps looked through the internet to find train times and cost.Something the big hotels do not actually do! ... NO ... Lovely, very very clean and with bags of character. The owners were most helpful!

The map online did not show the property - the street was not on there. It would be helpful if the map could include the specific street of a given accommodation. ... I liked the accommodation very much and would stay there again. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. ... We checked out very early - before the office was staffed. It was no problem. The day before we payed our bill and a staff member called a taxi for us - it waited for us at the precise time we asked. ... I very much liked the fact that there was a reading room - a general area with magazines and books where you could stay and read. Also, the manager had put a note in the room - next to the bookshelf - saying that you are welcome to take a book if you leave one in its place. ... An inconspicuous sign on the bell tells you you have arrived at Abatjour B&B. Watch out for it carefully, otherwise you'll miss it! Our room was spacious and painted adobe-orange. (I love that color!) It's simple, clean and comfortable, with a private bath. I liked the personal atmosphere. The people are all very nice and helpful. They took messages for us, called a cab when needed. A great place I would both recommend and visit again.

A very friendly B&B, good value for money. About 20 mins walk from the centre of Florence but a good bus service available.

Excellent decoration in the rooms!, Warm welcome from Paolo the owner. ... The location, just to state that is somehow far from the tourist area but closer to the train station. Not recommended for senior citizens. ... A warm place where every room has a unique character and decoration. Plenty of tea/cofee service in the room.

We did end up going the wrong way down the long street. ... Other than being right next to a train station which wasn't stated on the website the property and staff were wonderful. ... That it is close to train station (we did find the noise of the trains coming and going a little to get used to). ... Great place, would recommend it to a friend.

Hassle free and some good local advice given. ... We had paid a deposit which was momentarily forgotten at checkout but then quickly remedied when reminded. ... There is a little grocery store about 2 doors down Abatjour and a liquor store on the corner. Resident only Car Parking in that area. Two nice well priced Restaurants within walking. ... Characteristic of Accomadation in Florence. Clean, convenient and well priced.

Paolo was very helpful and accommodating. Our arrival was delayed, however, he made it very easy for us to arrive quite late. ... Paolo was very accommodating. He was kind enough to allow me to leave my excess luggage (bike-bag) at his hotel while I cycled around Tuscany. Overall, very helpful.

We arrived late due to mixup and changes in train travel, but Paolo left a note outside and met us later on. The location of Abatjour is a bit north of the main tourist area of Florence, but it was very simple to get the #4 or #28 bus into the main area of attraction.
Our room was very big and charming. There was a nice sitting area, old world charm, and the kettle and snacks in the room for the morning were fun. My only complaint was the shower -- it was awkward, and had 2 shower heads, one which was very high and weak, but when you switched it to the lower more powerful one, the higher one dripped cold water on you. There were no shelves or ledges for shampoo, or to help a woman shave her legs. Other than that, it was a simply charming place to stay in Florence! I'd definitely stay there again.

Although there was no one to meet us, we had been unfortunately delayed and arrived after the reception had closed. They had left a note for us on the door and whe we called them someone came round immediately. ... A lovely B&B and if we return to Florence we shall definately stay there again. ... Lovely

The stay was very nice and I loved that we had air conditioning. But the shower leaked water onto the floor and the shower curtain had mold on it because the shower would not drain properly. The breakfast was all pre- packaged food which was a little disappointing. I didn't quite understand the plum cake- is this a specialty of Florence?? The room was nice but the picture of the Serengeti was a little confusing to the Florence style that was talked about on the web sight. But the people were very helpful and the B&B is located near the BEST gelato place in Florence!!!!!! ... The best gelato place is located around the corner called Gelataria de Medici!!! The B&B is in walking distance from the center of town and is very safe to walk despite the looks. ... Very nice and clean, air conditioning, the breakfast is poor and the shower leaks but the people are very helpful and nice.Great location!

We drove to hotel and found Florence in general very confusing, specially the street name is not marked very clearly. ... The hotel is close to the train tracks, so it gets fairly loud in the night if you leave the windows open. But the room in itself was very tastefully decorated and bathrooms were also very clean. ... Very charming, forms part of the overall Florence experience.

The directions from the bus were a little confusing. We came from the train station and followed the directions but ended on the other side the road that the B&B is on which is about 1.5km long. The B&B is also not sign posted well and you are a little unsure as to whether you have the correct address or not. I would suggest placing a larger sign on the doorway or near the intercom system to alert guests that they have the correct property. ... The shower curtain collapsed on us the first night of our stay and there was insuffient drainage in the bathroom. The end result was that that bathroom had excess water on the floor area each time you used the shower facilities.
The double bed is made up of two mattresses, which can be very uncomfortable. ... The staff speak excellent english and provided us with a free map and concise directions - this is so important to highlight for those travellers unable to speak Italian. ... Overall the stay was quite nice. The staff are very accommodating and attentive to the guests needs.
The room resonates a traditional Italian look and feel, although the owners need to pay attention to small details such as the mouldy shower curtain which is very unhygenic.
Overall a satisying experience that provided value for money.

I think the bathroom must improve a little bit because it's really difficult not to wet all the floor when you take a shower.

I thought we would be closer to the center of Florence - Market area. Also, the train station was in our backyard which I didn't know ahead of time and it was very noisy as our room faced railroad tracks. Otherwise, it was fine and the owner was very gracious to us. We would return if we could have a room facing the main street! ... Clean, accomodating - I would recommend to a friend but mention the railroad station and walking distance to center of town.

It was all handled efficiently. ... The room was a bit small for 2 people to move around in and the bathroom was tiny, but it was a good stay. ... We checked out before the staff arrived in the morning (at about 7:30am) so we just left the room key on the desk as arranged. ... Near the train station, a bus ride from the centre of town. Clean and friendly.

The room was alright. Breakfast very poor. Just a croissant left in the room the night before with a kettle to make some coffee or tea ... acceptable. Front rooms on a noisy road.
