Florence is a wonderful city which can be noisy and over stimulating by the end of a long day sightseeing. We found the Alamanni Hotel to be a haven of quiet and comfort so we could rest and get ready for the next day's excitement!

Everything was very nice. The room was spacious, comfortable, very clean and new and very quiet. I think I expected a bit more of the room based on the gorgeous picutures of the lobby, bar, etc. shown on the website, but I think that's fairly typical of hotels. Not really a complaint, just something I noticed...the water in the shower was fluctuating in temperature, I am guessing from when other rooms were using thier water as well.

If I recall, the website did not give specific instructions on how to get to the hotel from the train station. I requested them, but did not receive a response. It also would've been good information to know that the Doumo is located on the opposite side of the city. Had we known that, we would have taken a taxi (not walked) to the area.

Nice, new, clean, close to train station, good value but a maybe a bit far from the main area if walking.

The hotel is not very easy to find, as it has a small sign and the entrance sits back off the street.

The room was nice, however, the carpet was very stained. The shower curtain was very dirty and gross, which is worse because the shower is simply a drain in the floor with a shower curtain around it, and the curtain sticks to your legs, so it should be clean and unstained.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was quite good and the rooms were quiet. We arrived the night of the blackout and the staff was very calm.

Good value for the money, with a helpful staff and within easy walking distance of the train station.

Only issue is that on the we one do not see that the outside of the hotel is rather different from what you expect from a typical hotel (it is located in a appartment building). it the hotel as such was fine.
