The hotel proved to be even more centrally and ideally located for our quick tour of Florence than we'd imagined from the maps and guidebooks. And the hotel's bathroom conveniences (at least in the one of our two rooms which had been renovated) were impressively modern and well-maintained.

I was especially grateful for the assistance the desk clerk provided at checkout in helping me to locate a car rental office across town, and to navigate safely back to the hotel to fetch our bags.

Some of the Alba's rooms have upgraded bathroom facilities. Others do not.

A charming and friendly little hotel located right in the heart of Florence, and literally steps away from the city's train station. Clean, bright, high-ceilinged rooms and a tasteful dining room for breakfast patrons helped make our brief stay in Florence so much more enjoyable.

It's a correct hotel, clean and with a friendly staff. It`s near of the train station and the centre of the city. The hotel is calm.

Easy to find and centrally located near the train and bus station

We very much enjoyed our stay in Florence and hotel Alba. The room was nice and clean which also goes for the rest of the hotel. We were always met with a smile! Very good breakfast!

The hotel offered good value for money, was central regarding train travel and car rental .
It took us 5 miutes from when we dropped off our rented car to walk to the hotel and it took 5 minutes to wlk to the station when we left Florence.
As far as the mjr attractions in Florence this was about a 10 to 15 minute walk from most points of interest.

The staff were helpful and we were able to leave our case at the hotel. When we returned at 9.30pm in the evening we were still able to us toilet facilities, sit in the waiting area and read the newspapers provided by the hotel.

We have already reccomended the Alba to a friend. It is very well located when arriving by train.

The mini-bar contained less items than were on the list. I tried pointing this out to the person at reception immediately after we entered the room. There was some difficulty getting my point across due to the person's limited English and my limited Italian vocabulary. I was however not charged for the missing items, so it was fine.

Check-out was extremly quick and hassle-free. We had to leave quite early and the staff helped us by finishing the formalities within no time.

Very easy access to Florence station. Looking at the map on the website, we thought it would be at least a 15 minute walk, but it turned out to be only about 5 minutes, once we realised the correct station exit. The station exit should be more clearly explained in the directions shown on the website.

Very good value for money, a 4 star feel for a 2 or 3 star price.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate us, including walking us to one of the museums we wanted to see when they got off work.

The gentleman in reception was very kind and helpful. He gave us a map and gave us great advice as to where things were in Florence and suggested a pleasant walking route toward the Duomo.

My Mom and I enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast was great and the room was very clean. We liked it so much that we have reserved 5 rooms there for my wedding party in December!

I would tell them that this hotel has a very professional staff, that is also extremely accomodating and who clearly like their jobs. The breakfast buffet was always well stocked and the items were fresh. All of the staff was pleasant and welcoming. I felt absolutely secure and comfortable. The hotel is perfectly located and is central to the Duomo and the train station.

The upstairs loft was obviously a floor carried through to each loft in the run. This meant that people walking on the floor next door or further down echoed in your room which was a little annoying at times.

Very pleasant accommodation, reasonable breakfast and very well located. The two-storey loft rooms were a bit noisy due to timber flooring in upper level but this would probably not be an issue in a standard room. Also the 2-storey rooms were a were dark requiring a light on at all times. Though nice and cool after the heat outside.

For me and my girlfriend was a very pleasant stay. We liked the size of the room, the air condicioned, the breakfast(very good orange juice..) and the place of the hotel in Florence and the people working in the hotel.
If anytime whe come back to lorence we will chice the Hotel Alba again.

Very convenient for arriving by train yet only minutes away from the centre. Not offering rooms 'with a view' but very near the beautiful Farmicia di Santa Maria (one of the world's oldest pharmacies with very expensive essences to buy). The hotel had some good restaurants to recommend within walking distance (we tried three of them!).

I mailed the hotel and notified our arrival at the Firence airport. The receptionist was most helpful and I was greeted with my name without mentioning it upon arrival.

Because the pictures allowed me to see what I may have wanted or not. The FAQs helped answer some of my questions and so I did not have to communicate back and forth with the hotel directly. It saved a lot of time.

Because I was a single, I got a room the equivalent size of a closet-and the room was unrenovated- I understand there are much better, bigger rooms at the Alba, but you must be a double, in order to get them.
However, I did like the location, the staff were pleasant, and for the rate I paid I was perfectly satisfied, but would probably choose elsewhere for my next visit to Florence.

Very very tiny room-non-renovated, breakfast, even for Italian pensione, basic and nothing special, tiny elevators, well located, esp. to train station and to walk into town-Duomo about a 15 minute walk, good restaurants nearby
