When you arrive at Alloro it's like at home but..... in holiday! Christian and his staff help you all the time to have a nice holiday. ... It's more that on the web site. Many times I paid much money for the worse hotel and services. Alloro is what do you expect to be in holiday. ... Good price, best service, best location. ... Location. Quiet place. In the center but not on the street, nice atmosphere for holiday. The balcony/ windows view. Security like at home. ... The best place for an wonderful holiday! I recommend Alloro for everybody . Location is better than we realized. Walking distance to the central market, Uffizi, Accademia etc. and just a few blocks from the train station--handy for us since we traveled by train. ... This little hotel is wonderful. Perfect location, exceptional rooms and breakfast served in your room. Traveled in Italy for over 3 weeks and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in and priced less than most.

The room was very large and well appointed. There were plenty of large windows. The room was quite warm, even with air conditioning. There was a lot of mosquitos getting into the room even with the windows closed (I beleive from the adjacent spiral staircase). ... Very large rooms. Very good location in the centre of Florence. It was a short walk from the railway station. However, the exact location was a little confusing because the hotel is part of a bigger building. The first impression of the room was very pleasant. ... We enjoyed our stay in Florence and that was greatly influenced by the pleasant stay at the hotel. Beuatiful room with frescoes - very quiet and spacious ... Needed 5 keys to get in, extremely well positioned in Florence ... A bit expensive, but we were in downtown Florence - we tried to have an extra night, but Florence was booked solid, had to stay in suburbs. ... Take the taxi to get there - good luck with a car! Lots of tourists because of its location between the markets, the train station and the Duomo, but this is not a complaint - we walked everywhere. ... A little palace with no superflus, good service, breakfast is delivered in the room at your convenience, there is an elevator, your room is in a courtyard on higher floors - very quiet and comfortable. The bed spread could be refreshed.

We were very pleased with everything about the stay. The one thing they could add would be a shower curtain. Also if they would attach a sign on the gate inside the main entrance, this would cut down on confusion of where to go once inside the main door. ... The Alloro is a charming and very clean B&B with an exceptional breakfast. We would stay again without hesitation.

Wonderful room, breakfast more than sufficient with excellent home-made yogurt! Ideal location for all major sights in Florence. ... Perhaps a more detailed desrciption of how to get to the second floor where Alloro B&B is located - easy to take the first elevator by mistake, when the true entrance is through the iron grille entryway. There are signs, but unless you are looking for them specifically, they can be overlooked. ... Great value for the money, ideal location and friendly staff.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. We thought that breakfast was included but were told that only coffee was available. Despite this I would stay there again because it was a very nice room and quite convenient for sightseeing in Florence. The manager helped us in arranging reservations to museums and in obtaining a taxi on the morning we left. ... The spaciousness of our triple room was more than we experienced in other, similarly priced accommodations in other Italian cities. The elevator was much appreciated. My family and I felt very safe there and the atrium was a beautiful place to relax before going up to our room. ... I would recommend it and would stay there again if I were in Florence.

We were greeted upon arrival by Christian (father). His son, also Christian, had made our musuem reservations the week before. ... The room was much larger than we anticipated. There were 3 of us wanting separate beds. It's difficult to find but the Alloro was accommodating and we found it very comfortable. The room was immaculate and decorated tastefully. Breakfast was delivered to the room on a tea cart. Fresh yogurt, pastries, rolls, jellies, butter and cafe latte (or beverage of choice)juice. ... On our last day, Christian was busy attending to several matters when we advised him we needed to check out immediately, leave our luggage and rush to make our appointed museum reservation time and then rush to the bus station. He politely stopped everything to figure out our bill so we could be on our way. ... I'm not sure if your description included the mini refrigerator stocked with drinks and bottled water and the elec. tea pot on our desk with the assorted complimentary teas. ... The best value for our money in Florence. Secure, centrally located in a safe neighborhood, clean and decorated nicely, fresh and tasty breakfast and very accommodating owners.

Christian was a very accomodating manager. Train tickets sold out in Venice making our arrival at 10:30 PM much later than the 5:00PM planned time. We did not know how to contact anyone using the local phone system. We were very worried that we would not be able to find him and not being a hotel there was no person on duty. But we contacted a neighboring accomodation in the building who had Christians phone number and they rang him up for us. He arrived very soon afterward. We were extremely relieved and happy how things worked out. ... The property was clean, secure, good linens, in excellent condition and well appointed with functional and decorative furnishings. One room for our group had fresos on the ceiling. Modernized yet retained the feel of the older property that it obviously is. A great location and good value. The 'breakfasts' in Italy are usually quite minimal and heavy on the wheat products but the breakfast served included the typical items plus a very nice homemade plain yogurt that was very welcome. I would easily recommend this B&B to friends and family. ... Very efficient for a staff that does not reside in the building. They have a small desk and cabinet in the hallway that serves as the checkout desk and they do it as you are leaving and they are cleaning the rooms. Relaxed and casual approach but professional with all the abilities to process credit cards and produce reciepts. English capabilites sufficient. ... Positive: Very nicely appointed. Quiet street.
... A very nice place suitable for couples looking for a good value in a clean, and nicely appointed room. No services like a hotel really but the room has pretty much all you might need. If you plan to stay in Florence several days you will look forward to the room as a great place to return to for some quiet and comfortable down time. It is way beyond a simple place to sleep.

They found me a room near by (as they were all filled up), at a discount price, for my niece who came to visit me for a couple of days. Very helpful.
The only thing I needed was for someone to be available to ask questions of after 5:00 when they were off duty. ... The single room was small, but quiet, clean, and decorated nicely and cheerfully. The entrance to the B&B was wonderful: through a large, arched, fancy steel-grated door from the street into a lovely courtyard with a pretty garden and fountain in the middle. The only thing I didn't care for was that people smoked in this courtyard below and the smell came up to my third story room when my window was open.
The location was perfect: only two blocks from the train station, one block from a large daily-held street fair and the Central Market (a huge building that houses all sorts of meat vendors on the first floor and vegetable vendors on the second floor). Both were really fun to go through. And the B&B is near many of the main tourist attractions, as well as approx. 15 min. walk to the Ponte Veccio. It was also only 10-15 minute walk to the car rental places.

It was a little hard to find the exact address, and as Americans, we are used to big signs in front of businesses, so it took some time to find the entrance...my sister finally saw the name on the doorbell/buzzer. The breakfast was even better than expected, praise to the owners...it was wonderful to wake up and have it ready in just a few minutes and delivered to our door! ... The people were terrific. The property is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic--far beyond expectations. The rooms and common areas are extremely clean, the decor is absolutely stunning--I wish I could live there. The computer in the room was a bit difficult to use (no mouse) and was very slow. Since I had to pay to use it, I wish it worked better. My only wish is that there were room service. ... I was impressed that I was given the option to have my billin Euros or Dollars--no other property I've stayed at in Italy gave me that option.
