Coming by car from North Italy: A1 highway exit Firenze Nord. After the motorway toll booth continue straight ahead until you reach a set of traffic lights. At the traffic lights turn left and continue on this road following the signs to Centro-Viali di Circonvallazione. Go on straight as far as you arrive at a traffic light with obliged direction on the right: turn right on the Viale Amendola, keep on the left and turn left at the first traffic light, then left again on Viale Giovine Italia, keep on the right as far as you arrive at a medieval tower in the centre of the avenue and proceed along the road that runs parallel to the Arno river. Then you can try parking in "Via Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia" or one of the many garage close by (it is not easy to park in the city centre so we suggest our guests to park in "Lungarno Zaccaria"). Once there turn right into Corso dei Tintori and then right again into via De' Benci. Continue for 200 metres and you will find Piazza Santa Croce on your right hand-side.
Coming by train: The nearest railway station is Santa Maria Novella. Once there take bus n.23 up to via dè Benci. get off in via De' Benci and walk for 100 metres (you will see the tower of S.Croce church opposite to you),then turn right and you will be in Piazza S.Croce. Palazzo Antellesi is situated on the right hand-side of the street at number 21.
Coming by air: - Airport Amerigo Vespucci of Florence is the nearest airport (5 km from the city centre). You can reach S.Maria Novella railway station by "Vola in Bus" shuttle service and once there follow as above. - Airport Galileo Galilei of Pisa - 90 km from Florence. Take the train leaving directly from the airport to S.M.Novella railway station and then follow as above. |
