The lobby feels like a charming boutique hotel. Every staff member we intereacted with during our stay was extremely helpful and willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.
The street outside may be busy; but inside the atmosphere is calm and the service is superior.

I LOVE this hotel!! Words can not describe how wonderful the Hotel Villa Azalee is -- from the gardens where you can have breakfast delivered to you every morning to the antique-filled bedrooms and elegant bathrooms. Just walking up the hotel's main staircase, you feel like you've arrived somewhere special.
The location is perfect for exploring Florence as well as for picking up a rental car for an adventure in the Tuscany countryside. Make sure to check out some of the neighborhood restaurants - the hotel staff gives great recommendations.
From this trip to Florence, I think my favorite memory is spending the day sightseeing in the city, then picking up a nice bottle of Chianti on the way back to the hotel and sitting in the hotel's lovely garden having a glass with my sister before dinner.
The Hotel is more than just a place to sleep, it will truly enhance your experience in Florence.

The breakfast is delightful. It's not your standard bread, yogurt, croissant kind (which is still good).
The Hotel's breakfast has little tastes of things that change every day. There's always pastry and bread, and an egg dish, bacon, cheese, meats, a torte and a pound cake.It was enough to take me through the day (with a gelato break) until dinner.

I have two sets of friends who are traveling to Florence next month. Both sets have changed their hotel reservations to the Hotel Villa Azalee.

i would describe hotel villa azalee as THE place to stay in florence. it was exactly what we were hoping for, and then some. the entire staff, (especially rafaella whom we dealt with the most) was tremndous. could not have asked for a better stay, and will absolutely recommend it to anyone i know that is heading to florence.

Excellent accommodation, good value for money, would not hesitate to recommend to others. All staff were paricularly friendly. Breakfast is very good but the breakfast room is a little small. Nevertheless, the hotel is highly recommended.

The only problem with arrival was the roas works outside the hotel that effectively meant that it was not possible to park outside and sort long term parking etc. The parking issue should be better explained in the details you give i think. This was only a minor quibble and not the fault of the hotel.

Azalee is a wonderful hotel. It is so lovely, convenient and beautifyl that I came back to stay there on my birthday on June 22nd.

Only the construction outside the hotel was a bit distracting when trying to locate it. It also may have been that I had just arrived from another country, not used to Italy and quite tired that I was not very alert.
I would use the term gracious to describe the hospitality.

Our rooms were very quiet and clean which was important to us. The shower in one of our two rooms was not working properly so our children could only get lukewarm water in a drizzle so I think that the plumbing needs to be updated.
The rooms could use a little updating, too. Although our bed was comfortable, my son said his twin bed had a saggy mattress.
My last comment is on the food. It was mediocre at best. We would have preferred brewed coffee instead of Nescafe. The selection of fruit and pastries was OK but the scrambled eggs needed to be kept warm and we would have liked a better selection of meats and cheeses.

I would tell them that it had a lot of charm and history but was a little worn. Also, we liked the location even though the construction next door made it a little messy. The gardens were beautiful and a lovely respite from the city. I would also mention the AC and the quiet rooms. But I would also warn them about the food. My last comment would let them know that we found the staff to be very accommodating and very gracious.

The Frommer's Guide indicated that Internet service was available at the hotel and it was not. These days, I believe it's important for a hotel to provide these services.

They were very friendly and even though we arrived prior (2 hours before check in time)to check in time there were no problems getting our room.
Luggage was carried to our room and no 'begging' for tip either.

I am just so very pleased with it all, but the web site has definately underestimated Villa Azalee. We even had a room with direct connection to the garden. What else can you ask for?

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Villa Azalee. Everyone, from the breakfast staff, the room staff and front desk staff were friendly, talkative and very helpful with ideas around Florence. We live in Naples Italy and we enjoyed our stay so much that we plan on returning to the same hotel in the near furture. Thank you for asking about our stay.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The breakfast was delicious and a great start to the hot summer days in Florence. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the city center but, the neighborhood was very quiet.

Good place to stay near the historic centre for people on a budget. 15 minute walk to Palazzo Vecchio/Piazza del Duomo. Clean and very spacious rooms that were not noisy. Friendly and warm staff.

Although generally very good, they were not very flexible about breakfast, and it started really quite late - 7.40 - which was frustrating as I had early starts.

Villa Azalee is well worth the money. The location was accessible (within walking distance to the sights, restaurants and shopping districts) and easy to find; the room was comfortable and clean; the staff was friendly and helpful; the setting was quaint; the parking was convenient; and the breakfasts were awesome!

the hotel is very good (localisation, room, service and everything else).
unfourtunatly, there was a enormous work in the streets around the hotel that difficulted the access.
it was a work that will take pahaps some months or years, because is a urban transport work.
we would like to be adverted about it before going.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Azalee. Our room rate was exceptional we realise. But even though we were paying the lowest price the service was welcoming and friendly. The hotel is very charming and once the road works etc. are complete it will be even better.We were close enough to the main attractions that we walked everywhere even with three kids..ages 5,7 & 8.

They were nice. The room was on one of the upper floors. The carpeting stopped and just left a dark stairway with cement floors...kind of scary.
