Casa di Barbano is a place that, while offering modern comforts, conserves it's antique charm. Mr. Barbano, once a resident here, was a famous vegetable merchant in the 1800's and this, his old house, is situated near the Piazza Independenza, at one time the city's vegetable garden.

The bed and breakfast is five minutes walking distance from the train station and a block away from Fortezza da Basso, an exposition centre, and the Palazzo dei Congressi, a conference centre. A pleasant stroll through the close by San Lorenzo market will bring you in the heart of the Renaissance and the great Duomo church.

Five hundred meters straight down the street and you arrive in Piazza San Marco and can visit Michelangelo's David sculpture in the Accademia delle Belle Arti. The bed and breakfast is situated on the ground floor, so that it is extremely easy for the traveller to transport suitcases. A warm and family atmosphere will welcome you to offer a comfortable accommodation, in a strategic position of Florence.
