The bed & breakfast was opened in 2004, but the building where it owrks had centuries of history already. The property is divided in the first and third floors of the construction, featuring six guestrooms and a suite-apartment. The building, placed at Piazza San Firenze, was built in 1490 as the Gondi Palace: architect Giuliano da Sangallo designed it following the premises of Palazzo Medici and Palazzo Strozzi.

But what really stands out in the history of this construction is the fact that Leonardo da Vinci used to live in one of the houses that were destroyed to enlarge the palace in 1870: moreover, it is thought that it was here where he painted the famous Gioconda. Nowadays, after a complete restoration carried out in 2006, the Galileo 2000 has four rooms on the first floor, and two others and the suite on the third floor of the building.

From some of the windows, you may gaze at Piazza San Firenze, one of the most typical squares in the city. The location is more than convenient: you will be only 5 minutes walking from the Duomo and a few steps from Piazza Signoria and Galleria degli Uffizzi, where some of the most invaluable masterpieces are kept.
