By plane: Peretola airport in the outskirts of Florence welcomes connections flying from Rome, London, Munich and Paris, among other cities in Europe, on a daily basis. It is placed only 11 kilometres from the Bed & Breakfast Galileo 2000 and can be easily reached by public transport.
By car: It will only take you 27 minutes to reach the b&b by car from Peretola airport. As you leave Sesto Fiorentino, where the airport is placed in the outskirts of the city, go along Vialle delle Idee and veer left in Via Generoso Patrone. Afterwards go along Via Madonna del Piano, pass the town of Sesto Fiorentino and you will come to a roundabout: here, take the first exit into Via Pier Paolo Pasolini, veer left into Via del Termine and then right again. Drive straight along Viale 11 Agosto, and already in Florence get on Via Sestese before turning right in Via Reginaldo Giuliani. Once you have passed Piazza Dalmazia, take your left in Via Carlo Pisacane. Go along Via Angiolo Tavanti, Piazza Pietro Leopoldo and Via Francesco Gianni, make a U-turn in Francesco Gianni and at Piazza Pietro Leopoldo go along the second exit from the roundabout, Via Giovanni Fabbroni. Veer right in Via Vittorio Emmanuelle II and left in Via Trieste. Go along Via Trento, turn right in Via Bolognese and continue along Viale Giacommo Matteoti. At Piazzale Donatello, turn right in Via Vittorio Alfieri, again in Via Giusti and left in Borgo Pinti. Veer left in Via dei Pilastri and right in Via dei Pepi. Take your right in Via dell Agnolo, your left in Via dell Acqua and your right in Via della Vigna Vecchia. Finally, turn right in Piazza San Firenze.
By train: At Peretola airport you can take a shuttle service to Santa Maria Nouvella station, from where you may take a bus -number 14-. Descend at Via Ghibellina, walk some steps back and veer left. A few metres ahead you will come to Piazza San Firenze, and the hotel is right in front of the church, on number 3.
If you come from Rome, you can take the trains departing to Santa Maria Nouvella station from the capital city (1 hour 40 minutes, approximately). |
