Everyone from the receptioist and the waiter and barman were exceptional. ... A great location just opposite the Frragamo Palace and Museu, two blocks from the Arno River and a 10 minute walk to the center of the city. The rooftop terrace restaurant is bedecked with flowering plants and the bar is cozy and intimate.

Although we were first given a room near reception which was a bit noisy, we were immediately provided with another room when we requested it. ... if the roof garden is not highlighted in the website, it should be. ... A conveniently located hotel which is both cozy and luxurious at the same time, furnished with wonderful antiques and run by a friendly and accomodating staff.

We arrived by airplane and the taxi took us immediately to the hotel. It was all in all a very pleasant experience. ... The room was wonderful, very comfortable. However, because the room was right next to the reception area, we could hear the phone always ringing during the day and into the evening. We could also hear the people at the front desk and the conversations. We would stay there again, but ask for a room more remote. ... The hotel was set up for client comfort... there was a delightful bar and lounge area that, unfortunately, we did not uas because of time constraints. I would have liked to use the lounge and terrace, but our stay was too short. ... A wonderful hotel, old and 'nicely faded' with all the comforts. Centrally located.... a little expensive, but worth the money.

All of the staff at Hotel Torn. were extremely nice, professional and eager to assist with any requests. ... There was a problem with hot water in one section of the hotel so I asked to be moved to another room and was able to visit many rooms. Some of the rooms did not have area carpets which felt a bit bare and cold and the room I moved to (with plenty of hot water) had torn curtains due to its damaged hardware. Some rooms had drab color schemes but the ones painted in pastel colors were charming. Overall I liked the fact that the hotel was not over-renovated and the paintings, antique furnishings and wood floors gave the hotel a warm historic and charming feeling. Also have to mention that Hotel Torn. has the most stunning roof garden with spectacular sunset views ! In summary I would return to this hotel given it's charming appeal, friendly accomodating staff, great location and fair price. ... A charming old world hotel with a welcoming staff and breath-taking roof garden.

The staff is so friendly and accomodating ... arranging city tours, excursion tours (i.e. Chianti, Siena, etc.), dinner reservations and taxis. ... The location is IDEAL!! ... 1 block from Arno, then 1 block to Ponte Vecchio; 2 blocks from Republican Square (Piazza del Repbulicano?)which is 1 block away from Catherdral Square (Bapistry Doors, Duomo, etc.); 5 blocks (~10 min. walk) to Santa Maria Novella train station; and every major Italian designer store is on or 1 block from Via Tornabuoni (where the hotel is located). When I return to Florence, (and I will), I will definitely stay at the Tornabuoni Beacci. ... It's the perfect Italian-hospitality and Italian-culture experience! If you stay here, I promise you won't be disappointed. The breakfast is abounding with the best fruit and ham I've ever eaten. And one of the many highlights of our stay was having wine or Limoncello on the gorgeous roof-top terrace.

Not quite the price that was quoted by you. I did not realize it until I got back to the states and looked at my voucher. The room was lovely and I just adore this hotel so the price difference is not something I am concerned about. ... Positive add....the staff is extremely customer focused, effecient and attentive. ... An excellent location in the heart of everything. Situated on a quite elegant street....sleeping rooms and common rooms make you feel like you are a guest staying in someones home. Antiques are marvelous, there are always fresh flowers and the desk personnel are extremely helpful and fun to talk to!

A lovely hotel with wonderful service and a fantastic breakfast. The bedroom and adjoining sitting room exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel well located. ... Charming and beautifully decorated with helpful and friendly staff. A lovely rooftop courtyard to have a drink and watch the spectacular sunsets.

But the room was very small for two people for a whole week and, more important, the shower leaked. So they let us move to a bigger room. ... Breakfast was rather disappointing - undrinkable juice; and coffee not marvellous; fresh fruit a bit restricted. And they stopped serving on dot of 10am even on Sunday. But staff were very pleasant and obliging.
Hotel ideally situated, right in the middle of the best designer shops and only a block from the Arno and maybe 10 minutes from cathedral and other main sights.
Work was being done on the bar so that was not available during our stay plus we had to endure workmen banging during breakfast.
Fabulous roof terrace - but probably too early in the season for them to contemplate making breakfast available out there (early April) even though perfectly warm enough most days. ... A bit of a kerfuffle because of changing rooms - they had to do it as two separate bills for some reason and couldn't find invoice for first room (though of course they knew what it cost and did charge us for it). But otherwise fine. ... Great position, fabulous roof terrace, large elegant lounges, some attractive furniture. But take marmite for breakfast and your own kettle and coffee/tea bags for evenings.

Hotel Tornabuoni Beacci is a very special place to stay in a very special city.
The hotel is well positioned one block from the River Arno near Ponte Santa Trinita, giving easy access to the Oltrarno, as well as the destinations on the north side of town. Unlike most hotels the entrance is four stories above street level; this unusual arrangement gives guests the impression that they are in a secret location.
The ceilings are 14 feet high throughout, lending a sense of spaciousness to the entire place. Art and antiques line the halls and furnish the rooms. A large sitting room allows guests to socialize in a warm atmosphere. The staff is very helpful, with friendliness and warmth larger hotels do not offer.
The Continental breakfast (included in the room price) is filling and satisfying. In warm weather breakfast is served on the terrace that is planted with flowers and has sweeping views across the city.
Ask for room #26 when you make reservations. It is very comfortable; its bathroom is roomy. From this room's two tall double windows Brunelleschi’s dome and Giotto's campanile can be seen to the left, with the Church of San Miniato al Monte and the hills to the south of the city in plain view on the right.
The comfort, warmth and charm of the Tornabuoni Beacci can not be matched and will keep me returning to Florence.

We love this hotel! We have stayed here before, and feel 'at home.' The Tornabuoni Beacci makes our visits to Florence very special. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else; we just wish that the restaurant had been open for dinner during our stay. ... A home away from home. This is a very different experience from staying in a large hotel. No matter how lovely, a large hotel cannot provide the personal touch given at the Tornabuoni Beacci.

The hotel was in a great location. We walked to everything we wanted to see. This is our absolute favorite hotel in Italy. There is a wonderful old study that one can lounge in and if you meander around you will discover several sitting rooms, too. The dining terrace has flowers everywhere and has a 360% view of old Florence. WOW!!! ... Ask for Angelo. He takes good care of you. He's been with the hotel 35 years. I love this place.

Better, because of helpful and congenial staff, especially, Angelo and Sammy. Better, because of the opportunity to meet many English-speaking guests and share information and experiences. (We need to work on our Italian.) Better, because the room, although smaller than anticipated, had a beautiful view. The location was ideal. ... I don't remember whether or not the web site mentions that the hotel has a dinner service. This is a good thing in the event a guest arrives late in the day or the weather is inclement. ... A perfect location for seeing the sights. A courteous and helpful staff who make you feel welcome and comfortable and speak English very well. Being on the top floors, gives one a sense of security and privacy. Our room was small, but there is a comfortable sitting room, bar area, wide hallways--places to 'spread out'.
