From the A1 Highway:
To reach Villa Sestini coming from North (Bologna) or South (Rome) you must leave the A1 Highway at the tollgate of "Firenze Sud", then you must drive along the linking stretch of highway for 800 meters (2400 feet), then you must turn toward Bagno a Ripoli and Viale Europa heading for the hills, direction "Pontassieve". After 4 traffic-lights, keeping yourself on the left side of the road for Rosano-Pontassieve and after 50 meters (150 feet) from the traffic circle, turn right towards Rimaggio. Go ahead for 200 meters (600 feet), pass the pharmacy (on the left) and the Trattoria Donnini (on the right). Continue towards the street "Via di Vicchio e Paterno" heading into the hill. After 700 meters (2100 feet), passed the "Scuola di Equitazione Fiorentina" (florentine riding-school), you'll see a house on the right and a little street "Via della Croce" (and the sign "Tabernacolo di Rimaggino", the "Rimaggino Tabernacle"). Choose the road on the right (avoiding the little street on the left), you'll arrive at a square in front of a Villa, turn toward the slope (the road passes between a side wall of the villa and a wall with a little tabernacle). Here you are in Via di Vernalese! Go on for 200 meters (600 feet) and Villa Sestini (recognizable for the tower) will welcome you with all its beauty...
From the airport "A. Vespucci":
Take the A1 highway direction Rome and exit at "Firenze Sud". Then follow the indications we wrote above...

From the city centre or from the city boulevards, head for Piazza Ferrucci, then Viale Giannotti and Viale Europa, direction Pontassieve. Pass the gas station "Q8" and after 3 traffic-lights. Then follow the indications we wrote above... |
