The adjacent quarter of S. Croce is one of the most typical of the old Florence, still inhabitated by Florentines, with picturesque artisan shops of restoration. Here there are also two particular markets such as S. Ambrogio market, with vegetables and foods sold directly by farmers, and an open-air flea market with a lot of second-hand dealer shops nearby. Ideal to visit the historical centre without get tired is the small electric bus which stops at the corner of Borgo Pinti street. |

Near Borgo Pinti there are a lot of interesting places to eat: Inside S. Ambrogio you can find a very cheap snack bar good for traditional dishes of plain cooking. Very famous are the sofisticated restaurant Cibreo, which proposes dishes of Reinassance descent, and the Enoteca Pinchiorri, one of the best restaurants in Italy whose prices are proportionate to its fame. |
