Profile

During the period when Florence was the capital of Italy many changes were carried out, mainly by Giuseppe Poggi, to adapt the city to its new role.
This was when
via Calzaiuoli was widened and straightened, and this is why the building where this comfortable hotel is situated, has a 19th-century façade although concealed inside are the remains of a medieval tower (there is for example a little gothic window).

All rooms of this hotel are efficient and decorated with good taste. Wall papers and fabrics are all in pastel shades; the breakfast room is inviting and the views over the picturesque old rooftops of Florence and its major monuments, such as the Duomo or the Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi, here in the heart of the city are unique.

The most famous museums of the city are only a few steps away. Hotel Calzaiuoli is located within the pedestrian area of central Florence in via Calzaiuoli one of the most famous streets in the world, in the very heart of the renaissance city. Occupying a completely renovated mansion with origins dating back to the 14th Century, hotel Calzaiuoli is ideally located between Piazza della Signoria and Piazza Duomo. This central position allows guests to live just a few steps from the city's most important spots, while also offering the possibility of shopping in Florence's most elegant stores.
