 During the period when Florence was the capital of Italy many changes were carried out, mainly by Giuseppe Poggi, to adapt the city to its new role.
This was when via Calzaiuoli was widened and straightened, and this is why the building where this comfortable hotel is situated, has a 19th-century façade although concealed inside are the remains of a medieval tower (there is for example a little gothic window). |
