Saying there is no elevator (lift) and the actual 42 STEPS to the first floor was a bit misleading. The walk to our rooms was very tough even though we are mostly in good physical condition.
...
Breakfast was poor, and not like the other inns we stayed at in other parts of Italy. One small bun and roll and then some nasty items wrapped in plastic. No meats, no cheeses, no fruit. The air-conditioner was not working the first night, but was fixed quickly.
...
The fact that there is no elevator (lift) and that the walk to the first floor is 42 very difficult steps. That the only english TV station is BBC World and it has to be the most boring TV station in the world. CNN would be better. Also, because the rooms are pretty isolated our cell phones did not work, but worked elsewhere in Florence. So if you need to keep track of kids like we did - wanting to always be available to our kids back in the U.S. not having 24 hour a day cell phone service was of concern to us.
...
Convenient, quiet and comfortable. Sara was very friendly and helpful.

I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to guests in the future. The lady who works there was so helpful, spoke perfect English, and had great restaurant/museum suggestions. Another added plus that wasn't on the original website, is that the breakfast that is included, is served in bed! We loved it. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel in a better location.
...
Breakfast is served in bed, at whatever time you would like. It is just footsteps away from the Duomo, Baptistry and Musee di Academia. And the bathroom had a hairdryer!
...
a charming, tradional florentine hotel, decorated in true florentine style, with a friendly and helpful staff, American-style shower, nice breakfast, and in a great location.

My flights were severely delayed and I
arrived at 1.00 a.m. instead of late
afternoon. I kept staff at the hotel updated
and I was waited for and welcomed with a
smile despite the inconvenience my very late
arrival must have caused.
It was very much appreciated!!!

...
The room is furnished with taste and has
character. It has all the mod coms.
The staff is extremely helpful, polite and
smiling.
The service is quick and friendly.
I will certainly go back when I am in
Firenze!

The staff was delightful. Very friendly, very helpful in recommending resturants, giving directions, etc. The location is outstanding for walking to most of the major sites in Florence.

The beds were changed to be a twin bedded room with no difficulty.
...
That breakfast is served in the room - this was not clear on the web site.
...
I would say that Relais Il Campanile
was in a great location, really near to the Duomo, and a great street market and easy to get to other places in Florence. The hotel was clean and the staff were welcoming and friendly!

Although we arrived early we were able to leave our bags and view the room before coming back later at the formal check-in time which was most helpful.
...
The location of the Relais Campanile was excellent, even better than anticipated.
...
We needed to leave a bit early at 7.50am and we had to pay a day early as they couldn't accommodate this - however, it is not a large hotel and therefore this was not a problem for us and they were very helpful in terms of arranging a taxi etc.
...
Fairly basic accommodation but more than adequate for the amount of time that you spend during a busy visit to Florence. Run by very pleasant people who are extremely helpful.

...
I had an early check in and a very early checkout. The staff was wonderfully accomodating by moving my luggage into my room when it was ready and providing me an early breakfast in my room the night before so I could receive breakfast before I left. All was wonderful.

The only compaint I have is apparently in Europe it is common to set the Air Conditioner at a fairly high temperature and it did not operate as effiencently as I would have liked. We had to sleep with the windows open at night because it was to warm. I found this same situation in another property we stayed at while in Italy.

Worth the money, in a very good location with a helpful and friendly staff.

The staff smoke and that was evident upon arrival

The room was large and comfortable. It was very convenient to the city centre.

The breakfast was very nice with many things to choose from.

I would stay again if in Florence.

I was puzzled that they requested we pay in cash instead of the agreed upon VISA but we obliged and was given a slight discount.

Leonardo is a gem, very warm and helpful. The location was perfect, close to all places of interest.
...
I will definitely stay here again when I return to Florence.
...
The street below is always bustling with people, but never rambunctious.
In the evenings, before dinner, our bedroom window was a great place to people watch. People would look up at us and wave and shout out “Ciao”. This made it evident that Florence was not only charming, but a welcoming city as well!

My luggage was lost between NYC and Florence by the airline I was traveling on. The woman at the front desk was so helpful, made several calls for me, let me use her computer to contact my family, she was great. The place is centrally located and very affordable.

This was a great location! You walk out the door to the strret and see the Duaomo! Sara was very helpful and ptient with allour questions and helped with arrangements for taxi etc. Our room faced the back of the building and was very quiet. The breakfast was very good on very prompt in the morning. The room was ggod size although had a little peeling paint and and was a little muggy.
Would definitely stay again!

We arrived around 8pm on a Sunday and the only comment we would make is that once inside the front door the enterance is not at all inviting and made us hope that the rooms would be better.
...
Could certainly do with some paintings on the bedroom walls, and more storeage space. The bathroom was very small so anyone large would have a problem.
...
We could not fault the helpfulness of the receptionist, however the information she gave us about prices of enterance fees where not up to date.
...
An adequate hotel, very well situated. The beds are very comfortable and the service is good. Dont be put off by the enterance foyer. We had a room facing the street which we were happy with, the double glazing kept out the noise at night. Very noisy in the mornings if we had the window open but we liked the sound of the city waking up.

An online map with directions to the property would have been helpful, specially since the streets in Florence are rather small and twisty.
...
One of the two rooms we occupied had a slight bad smell that forced us to open the windows, although it was cold outside (5 celsius). This problem remained during our stay, although the room was apparently quite clean.
...
Staff very helpful. They got us a reservation for tickets for the Galleria Uffizi on the Saturday of our stay and we avoided an hour long wait in line.
...
The property description on the web-site should make clear that the rooms are on the second or third floor of the building, and that there are no elevators.

It would also help if you indicate to those that complete their reservations that there are no signs on the street or the front of the building of the Relais, except for the small sign above the door bell.
...
Small B&B kind of place on your typical old building right in the middle of Florence, just 30 meters from the Duommo. Not fancy, but clean, decent, comfortable and very convenient to just walk to every thing in town. Staff was always corteous and helpful.

Since we were only staying for one night, it was fine. But the pictures on the website made Il Relais more appealing than in person.
...
I would describe the place as a budget place in terms of the accomadation, but not the price. It was a great location, but it felt musty inside.
