Great location...did not realize that there would be 67 very steep stairs to climb....no lift....

At the mail-receipt from the hotel, the adress was stated Via Borgo Pinti 8. That was wrong, we was surprised that there was no hotel at no. 8. And had to ask people. Then we found it at no.5. Quite surprising.
We told the reseptionist, but he did not care much about it. Had expected more reaction from the hotet for such a mistake!

The room was quiet, with a good and quit air condition. A pittoresk view from the window and short distance to the citycenter.
We will recommend the hotel to our friends.
My collegue at work recommended it to me.

Two additional comments - 1. Graded only as Good for Question 8 because of room-to-room noise that I'm sure can not be helped but none-the-less once others were awake in the morning, so were we! Very quiet area, though which is wonderful considering central location. 2. Only down-side from a North American/Canadian perspective was the staff smoking in the common areas - a cultural difference I know but some Italian hotels have chosen to adopt non-smoking policies for staff.

We were absolutely satisfied with Hotel Cardinal for our 4 night visit. Everything was exceptionally clean, the fixtures & furniture was all new (recent renovation I believe) and was per the description on the intranet. We booked one more night immediately preceding our departure from Italy and recommended it to other travelers. Breakfast was very handy & let us get into our sight-seeing days quickly. Great value, thank you!

Marco (the manager) was extremely helpful to us in our entire trip. He is a wonderful gentelman and runs an excellent business. The hotel itself was very pleasant and quaint. Just don't ask for the King size bed (it is really uncomfortable).

There is no elevator, and you must climb 4 flights of stairs with your luggage, so make sure you are in good shape!!!!

u should add that the hotel is in the fourth floor and there isn't an elevator
it will be helpful if u mention that there is no parking in the hotel

From March 1st The Cardinal will join the Chiazza hotel on the 2nd floor and the name will remain The Cardinal of Florence.

Good.Nice and clean rooms.Very good heating, excellent towels, good breakfast. Very quiet street and the location was excellent, just a few minutes'walk from the Duomo.Try to be in good shape as the hotel is on the third floor and it can be a bit hard especially when you come back loade with your shopping after having walked a whole day.But it was good value for money.From March 1st there will be another floor (2nd) so try to get a room there or room N.7(excellent)located next door totally recycled.

The young man that greeted us was absolutely wonderful and helped us with our luggage up the very steep stairs to the 3rd (?) floor.

Even though the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the steep stairs were quite a challenge even without luggage. We were a party of 4 in their 50s and think older people should be advised of this situation before booking.
