This really was a wonderful location, the apartments were delightful, the neighborhood friendly. If I were to return to FLorence at any time, I would hope to stay in the same naighborhood, preferably at Residenza Il Carmine.

The staff arranged for a taxi to meet me at 6 AM to take me to the airport. The cab showed up exactly at six.

I went to Florence to see Renaissance art, and was happy to learn that Fra Filippo Lippi was born two doors down from my apartment.

Everything was great at the apartments, the people were very wonderful and spoke excellent English. It was very satisfying to live on a Medieval street for two weeks.

This was truly a remarkable property and the owners were charming in every way. The apartment was ideally situated, immaculately clean, and furnished tastefully and artistically. It enhanced the Florence experience beautifully. We would not hesitate to return and stay where we did.

We felt that the owners of the property were especially gracious; helping us with directions to available parking space; recommendations to restaurants and to nearby shops. We felt very welcome. The apartment was very comfortable in size, the beds were very comfortable and everything was exceptionally clean, and in working order. I would suggest that some of the light fixtures on the walls could use shades, as the glare is a little harsh to read by, but other than that, we were very pleased with our stay. The web site shows a lot of exterior greenery as I guess most of the units on the property are in the interior courtyard. The unit we stayed in was not near any exterior yard area; so I was a little surprised that the unit had no yard or view of the yard; but it didn't matter to me as we were 'out and about the city all day ' and wouldn't be using any yard area anyway; but that might matter to some other guests. I can't tell you how nice the people were who were managing the place, it meant a lot to us that they would tell us to just call if we needed anything or any advice.

I would recommend it highly, as it is so comfortable and conveniently located, but I would tell them that the unit we stayed in is directly inside the door from the street, with no views but that it has beautiful high ceilings, and is quiet at night because the street gets very little traffic because it is mainly residential and very narrow.

I was thoroughly pleased -- booking via the web still seems to carry an element of risk, but frankly the apartment was considerably larger than the pictures on the web looked, the location perfect, the neighborhood great, the place extremely clean and well appointed, and the service excellent (cleaning and otherwise). Owners were personable and very helpful. Would definitely return.

Next door to the birth-place of Fillipo Lippi in 1406! On a narrow street that appears to have been little altered by time.

A wonderful little flat in on a charming street that takes you back to what Florence must have felt like in medieval times (but with today's ammentities, like air conditioning, etc.). Nice non-touristy neighborhood where you feel part of the local community. Close to great little neighborhood shops, cafes and trattorias.

At the end of a long day's travelling, we were tired , and we were very appreciative of the friendly greeting, the comprehensive instructions, the helpful advice, and the assurance that there was somebody on the premises available to us at all times.

An extra little service- a taxi was ordered for us at our request. The lady at Res. Il Carm. was concerned at the delay, went to the end of the road repeatedly to see if it was coming, rang again, and despite our assurances that we were all right, she waited with us until the taxi arrived.

WE arrived late (10:30 ish) due to problems with a connecting flight and were pleased that Katrina was available to sort us out.

NO problems these were sorted out the night before due to an early departure-in addition a taxi was ordered for us to get to the airport - this arrived promptly when due

Appartment was well equiped though a kettle would faciltate tea making, we used a pan. A toaster would also be useful.

The apartments are in a quiet location close to all the major sites. We stayed in 'Oro' apartment and thought it was beautifully decorated, comfortable and well equipped. Our hostess was also incredibly friendly.
We would really recommend Residenza Il Carmine!

The staff at Carmine are absolutely lovely.
They should probably mention the charming Mynah bird in the garden on the website as he always put a smile on my face in the morning.
I would recommend it to anyone.

On site staff were cheerful, friendly, knowlegeable and available. One evening we arrived home during a (short) electrical blackout in the neighborhood. Wondering how we would find our way, we arrived to find them at the front door with a flashlight waiting for us to come home -- they then showed us there were small emergency backup lights functioning in the apartment, and brought us a candle for additional illumination.

Just fix driving directions. Should include inf about need to register car with police due to parking and driving regulations in the centro.

Quiet! Large clean studio opening on garden, away from traffic and chaos of city. Very interesting neighborhood where there are many opportunities to talk to the locals (there are few tourists.)15 minute walk to most historic sites, fairly good bus service. Close enough to come home for lunch and siesta. Far better than a typical Florentine hotel room. Delightful owners.

Occassionally it was noisy - there seemed to be a nursery or similar in the room above us.
