By Car
From the Highway - Firenze Nord:
Exit A1 Firenze Nord. Follow directions for Centro/Viali Circonvallazione and, driving along the Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini until you arrive at the first traffic light. Turn right into Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Cross Piazza Indipendenza and turn first left, into Via Guelfa, and then turn first right into Via Panicale; then turn left into Via Taddea, then right following the sign for Mercato Centrale. You will be by then in Piazza del Mercato Centrale where at number 22 you will find "Casa Carolina".
From the Highway - Firenze Sud:
Exit A1 Firenze Sud. Follow directions for Centro/Viali Circonvallazione until Piazza della Liberta'. Take Via Lorenzo il Magnifico and at the first traffic light turn left. Go straight, pass Viale Spartaco Lavagnini, take Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria just opposite you, go straight on and cross Piazza Indipendenza, take the first left (Via Guelfa) and then turn first right in Via Panicale, then left in Via Taddea, then right following the sign for Mercato Centrale. You will be by then in Piazza del Mercato Centrale where at number 22 you will find "Casa Carolina". The closest garages where you can keep your car are: Garage P.zza Mercato Centrale; Garage Nazionale, Via Nazionale 21; Garage Luna, via Panicale 41/R.
By Train
Upon your arrival at the central railway station Santa Maria Novella you will see two exits. Leaving the train behind you, go towards the exit on your left, at the traffic light cross the road and keep going right until the corner. Take the street on your left, Largo Fratelli Alinari, and keep walking on the pavement on your right. After a few metres, the street changes its name in Via Nazionale. Take the third street on your right into Via Chiara. After 15 metres you will be in Piazza del Mercato Centrale and on your left at number 22 you will find "Casa Carolina".
By Plane
Upon your arrival at the Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence, situated in Via del Termine, (Peretola Area), you can reach "Casa Carolina" by taxi, or "navetta": "Fly", the bus number 55, arrive at the central railway station Santa Maria Novella and then follow the directions as above. |
