Amazing! I felt like we had walked into a fairy tale. The place is immaculate and the people very friendly and accomodating. It is excellent value. The area has great dining and vineyards to visit. If you have a car Florence is very close.

We had a wonderful reception; even though we arrived at almost midnight, the receptionist stayed up late to welcome us.A wonderful chateau,wonderful and very friendly people.

Got to go there. Not in town but a short distance. Set up reservations at the museums for us, helpful with directions. Very king and wonderful hosts. Beautiful grounds and view. Loved everything about it. Just wish we stayed longer.

The owner was INCREDIBLY helpful - when we arrived late on a Saturday night, we called up the hotel and the owner immediately came to pick us up at the bus stop! Unbelievable service.

My wife and I spent our wedding night here, and we could not have asked for a more perfect place! Getting there is a bit of a trick, but certainly feasible (via train to Firenze S.M.N. and then bus #31 or #32 to the Grassina stop, near the end of the line), and the place is UNBELIEVABLE! The host and hostess (father and daughter) are very polite, helpful, and hospitable, and arranged a taxi to pick us up in the morning after breakfast. We had a bit of time to explore the grounds in the morning, and the hostess showed us around the inside of the castle and gave us a 'mini-tour.'
No complaints here...the perfect place to go on a honeymoon or if you're looking for a nice getaway.

This is a really cool castle-turned-hotel on top of a hill just south of Florence. I stayed there with my wife on our wedding night and we loved it and are looking forward to spending a week there for our 10th anniversary!

We kept following the sign 'Firenze Sud' from Florence thinking it would take us south on the autostrade. However, it kept taking us to south Florence, not in the southern direction as we thought from the directions. It took us a while to figure this out because we were not familiar with Italian traffice signs. This was very confusing, and we needed to stop and ask for directions. We recommend this be clarified.

Everyone was very hospitable, accommodating, and friendly. Our room and the common areas were very comfortable and clean. Also, the breakfasts were very good! We would stay there again and we would recommend Castello di Montauto to others, too.

The staff was wonderful, the view was amazing, finding it, as in finding anything in Italy to new visitors was pretty hard.
