Firenze made home-like by a most gracious host and his eager assistant.

All the staff we met were extremely pleasant and helpful at all times. The position of the Hotel suited us perfectly just out of the way of the major bustle of the city but in easy walking ddistance of all you would want to see.

There is a shorter way to get from the train station to the hotel- by the bridge closest to the train station. The front door is a bit unwelcoming-does not seem to be a hotel- you need to talk through the intercom to be let in. The boy working the front desk was very nice. He carried our bags up the flight of stairs and spoke great English. ... The property was charming enough but we were dissapointed to find that the room was rather plain without the gorgeous wood ceiling shown on the website. The bathroom was nice. The walls were quite thin and we could hear the TV next door. Breakfast is in a quaint room. ... We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel after check-out since we wanted to explore the city more before leaving. ... Nice quiet location. Great churches near- by. Restaurant pictured is not part of the hotel. ... Charming. Not as friendly as expected. A little removed from tourist area.

Although I don't believe we requested a deluxe double, we were a little disappointed to be assigned a handicap- appointed 'regular' double room. I personally didn't mind this accommodation as it was still very clean and the bathroom may have even been a little bigger than the standard double room, however my husband would have preferred the standard double, or at least been informed of the possibility of being assigned a 'handicap friendly' type room. ... The shower in our room needed to have a deeper floor pan (or whatever it's called)because it was too shallow and water would flood onto the rest of the floor unless one stood very still and near to the wall with the showerhead and also didn't take a long shower. ... I may be mistaken, but I think I had come across some descriptions of this hotel as a 'bed & breakfast'. Although breakfast was provided and the cost included in the room rate, I didn't find the overall atmosphere to be as warm or as 'communal' as I would have imagined, but maybe my expectations are founded on a more stereotypical concept of bed & breakfast... ... Reasonably priced smaller hotel, very neat and clean, located away from the more congested and noisy parts of Florence, but with-in easy walking distance from the main tourist sites of the city.
