Finding accomodations for two adults and two children in Florence is difficult, especially if you want to share one room, as we did with our 13 and 11 year old non Italian speaking boys. What was outstanding about Hotel Cimabue is the service. All of the staff can speak excellent english and they were extremely helpful and positive with all of our requests. The rooms were large, and beautifully decorated with antiques, the ceilings were frescoed beautifully. The rooms were very clean. Boys were satisfied with the fact that they could get MTV in english on the television. Breakfast was adequate. I think they can do more. No protein on the breakfast menu and the fruit is canned. The cappuccino was excellent. It is about a 20 minute walk to the train station and 10 minutes to the Duomo. 20 minute walk to the UFFIZI. The hotel was fine. Our dissatisfaction if any, came from the city of Florence itself. Over the past 5 years, it has converted itself into a large tourist trap. The city is dirtier than I remember and much dirtier than Rome, Venice, Siena, Verona and Milan, all of which we visited on the same trip. The quality of the merchandise has dropped tremendously. Lots of made in China stuff. If you want Italian leather, go to Siena. The quality, variety and pricing is better. Service in boutiques and restaurants was practically non existant. So the service at Hotel Cimabue was a refreshing change.

we had difficulty finding our son and had to call Rome--The young lady from Europe was delightful and efficient in providing service and phone calls.

You need more internet service-several computers and available for longer hours. The internet service should be part of the guests' services.

We would encourage our friends to stay at your hotel. The off season rate was reasonable. The breakfast does help the pocketbook and gives one time to prepare for the day. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms had more space than other hotels-and the showers were warm.

This hotel was a wonderful value. The reasonable price gave a charming room with frescos on the ceiling, breakfast with excellent coffee, and hosts who went out of their way to be helpful.

We received a wealth of information about sites to visit in Florence, some unusual and not frequently mentioned in tour books - all this before we had even reached our room! It was a very enthusiastic welcome.

Our room was wonderful and ample in size. Another couple said their room was the smallest room they had ever stayed in and they could hardly move around the bed. Perhaps it would be a good idea to clarify the size of the room while booking.

Very helpful and professional staff. Very obvious attention to details, even small ones. The fresco on our celing gave a delightful old world flavor to our stay. Nice breakfast. The proprietor is obviously a cultured man with a love of art, consequently he was a wonderful source or information.

We arrived at Florence not knowing what to see, where to visit etc but we were immediately handed a map with clear , precise , well spoken English from the hotel manager and he pointed out the many tourist attractions to see.

The owners of this hotel are friendly and helpful. The location is great, the room small and somewhat tired, but very clean. An added plus is a public garage about a 10 minute walk which offered safe overnight parking for 15 euros. We would definately stay again.

The bed & b reakfast oart was interesting. We had to go across the street to a littl bar/cafe for our breakfast. One day it wa closed and one day we left too early to use it. The manager did make it up to us by providng us a complimentary drink one night that she brought for us.
Room could be noisey as it wa on an ally whee people delivered early in the morning and walked down it late at nightQ

quaint little place. Nice and clean. within walking distance of the train station. Shower and bathroom very tight. Lift was fun but not a typical elevator. Manager was nice and helpful.

As building work was in progress we never used the official access to the first floor, but using the fire-exit was quite adequate!
Staff particularly friendly and helpful.
We were not disturbed by building noise, however one room was noisy in the night being opposite some sort of police headquarters - lots of flashing lights and racing engines.

Pretty good location, nice staff, rooms were fine, although bathrooms a little small. Street noise was a bit more than we expected but in general we were happy with our stay. Overall, a pleasant experience!

The gentleman at the front desk was more than friendly, not only at our arrival, but throughout our stay.

The room itself was nice, but the hotel was so loud. Without carpets in the hallways, the sounds of people talking as they entered their rooms at all hours of the night was very disturbing. In addiiton, breakfast time was especially loud. When I left Florence for Rome, all I could think about was, 'I hope my hotel in Rome is QUIET.'

I would say it was a nice hotel in a good location. I would say the staff and breakfast are wonderful, and the rooms are pretty. Ultimately, however, I would say unless you are a very heavy sleeper, you should find another place to stay.

I think that if you are going to put up people in a room with a balcony that you should try and keep them away from the air conditioning units that are outside there room. When I requested a room with a balcony, the reason was that I need the door open during the night, as I am unable to sleep with the windows close, but the noise of the air conditioning unit at the door prevented me from getting a good night sleep, which didn't help me enjoy my trip.
