Travellers Reviews

There was no night staff, and I had to leave early in the moring. The bill was settled the night before. ... This is a perfect place for the budget single traveller. The value for the price paid is excellent. The rooms are small, but the bathroom is fully equipped and the entire place very clean. The staff is helpful and polite. The location is within walking distance of most any tourist sight and the train station. The entrance is a bit intimidating. It requires a climb up two flights of step in a rather dingy stairwell. Should I return to Florence, this is where I will stay.

We were a bit surprised we had to walk up 55 steps to the hotel. Not an easy task for a couple of 50+s carrying suitcases. ... We were extremely happy with the accomodations, staff, and especially the LOCATION! Nearby to everything we wanted to see. ... You could add info about the walk-up! (We still would have stayed there, but an older couple might have had trouble. ... I would recommend this place to all our friends.

For a budget hotel, this was very good. The only problem was that the matress on our bed was very lumpy. We would certainly stay there again if this was resolved. ... There was no hairdryer in the room - it had to be requested from reception. As there was no reception after 8.00pm I was unable to get hold of the hairdryer after getting very wet in a rainstorm ... No ... Clean, cheap and cheerful

The hotel is two flights up from ground level and the staff assisted me with my luggage immediately upon seeing me on the staircase. ... Staff was very friendly and helpful with directions, and sight-seeing suggestions. ... No elevator. ... Good value if on a tight budget.

Everyone was really nice and helpful... Everything about my accomodation and facilities was cleared for me from the very beginning, which i found really good! ... Everything was very satisfactory... the room was really ok and confortable. As expected!! ... As said, everything was amazingly good until we get into the check-out. The receptionist wasn´t prepared for our check-out and noticed at that moment that the credit card machine wasn´t working.Actually isn´t a big deal, but could be avoided. In exchange of the inconveniance, the hotel gave me a special rate for my disconfort, which is also really nice customer service strategy! thumbs up !! ... well, as positive as well as negative for some customers could be the issue about no receptionist at night, after 20:00. For me wasn´t a big deal, but could be an issue for some customers... should be advise in your website. Also, the high stairs to get there, for disable customers wanting to visit you, not an elevator for that. ... I will describe it as a great, quite, clean and confortable place to spend time in Firenze... easy to reach, friendly personel, nice breakfast incl. real coffee from a coffee machine!!! (at least the best at the moment in my experience in hotels in Firenze!) and also a good price, comparing with other hotels in Firenze with less than what H.Colorado has to offer!

I was unprepared for the fact the hotel was at the top of several flights of (steep) stairs. Having to carry heavy luggage up stairs was not enjoyable and could have been a serious problem for elderly people or those with health problems. This should have been mentioned in the hotel information. ... My room was very basic; the bed was actually a folding bed with a very thin, uncomfortable mattress. The window faced onto an extremely noisy street which, combined with an uncomfortable bed, meant I slept very poorly during my stay. The windows rattled and, as there was no air conditioning, either slammed shut if left open or rattled if closed. From observation of other rooms the beds seemed to be better and the rooms at the back of the hotel would appear to be quieter. ... Easy, smooth process. ... See above re stairs. No real communal area if wishing to remain inside due to weather etc. ... Basic, okay for a base if on a budget but not recommended for longer than a few days.

We had an excellent experience. The staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms were pleasant. The only drawback was that the beds were quite hard. Otherwise, it was lovely and I have already recommended the hotel to friends. ... Good value, clean, pleasant, quiet, excellent staff. A pleasant escape from the bustle of Florence.

Very very nice place. Clean, spacious but be aware that you don't have elevator. That was the only thing we didn't know and our luggage was a little heavy.

We took a bus to Piazza San Marco, but upon arriving there, were a little confused about where to go. We finally worked out the numbering system and found the hotel. It might be worthwhile adding further directions to your website, indicating how to walk to the hotel from Piazza San Marco. ... The couple who ran this hotel were very warm and welcoming, which made our stay there very pleasant. We were also impressed with the choices of food provided for breakfast - a nice start to each day! Coffee was great! ... Hotel Colorado also provided a range of complimentary magazines, for reading and return, which was greatly appreciated. ... The hotel is basic but very clean and within walking distance of many of Florence's great sights. The couple who run the hotel are very warm and welcoming. The hotel is great value for money.

Man on desk in evening was nice but young and not particularly engaging. He also leaves at 9 pm, so if you need anything after there is noone to talk with. Morning crew more hospitable. ... Would like to have known it was three flights walk up to hotel floor. Was also farther away frmo train than expected. ... Good, clean hotel, great to have AC. Hall dark on three flights up. Reception space a bit cramped, not a welcoming space. Nice breakfast.

The hotel is in the third floor. We had the luck to get a room outside to a garden, so it was very quiet. We enjoyed the stay there.

Good. We arrived earlier than the normal check in time, but were still offered a room that already became available. ... Rooms are clean and adequate sized, but very cheap interior, no decorations and most of all noisy (from neighbouring bathroom).
Breakfast above expectations for this class of hotel and considering the average Italian breakfast. ... Could pay with Mastercard. ... Facilities are quite basic, e.g. Internet Point is same PC as the receptionist PC. So not practical. Furniture is very basic.., do not expect a romantic room.
In FAQ: # Are there quiet, private, romantic rooms? All our rooms are very quiet and private.
But: Room was not quite at all and not romantic.
... Very basic hotel for budget traveller, good value for money, adequate breakfast. Some rooms can be noisy.

You forgot to mention that the property has no lift. ... It is worth mentioning that the property is 2 mins walk to Accademia and most popular sites can be reached by walking (this is a plus)
