as the hotel is in the center of the city, it was difficult to approach with the car, also the reception was in the 4th floor and there was only a small sign in front.

I was wholly pleased with the Hotel Cosantini. After the tiny room I got in Rome, it was a delight to have such a spacious room in Florence! The location is great, as long as the morning bells of the Duomo don't bother you. I recommend this Hotel highly as a good, comfortable, spacious place for a very good rate.

quirky middle aged bloke who has got a great memory from each stay year to year who remembers exactly what hot beverage you want for breakfast even though you may not have stayed there for a year

My home in Florence and love to know that I can lie back in my bed and see the roof of the Duomo or be sitting on my loo and being able to see the roof of the bell tower!!

Room was not ready when we arrived; however, the receptionist did his best to see our needs were accomodated.

We ended up in a quiet room down a hallway off to the side of the main corrider (room 15) and it was quiet and perfect for us. I would not recommend the rooms on the main hallway as they were much noisier, or at least I would want to be advised of this upon booking the room.

You are paying for the convenience of the location with this hotel. Very good location, but 'bare bones' hotel in terms of ammenities. Clean and efficient. Breakfast not that great but again, the basics are all available.

No real problems, only issue was the noise level from the hallways. Walls are too thin and you could hear every little sound from the halls. Very tough to get a good nights sleep.

It was great to see the Duomo out of the
window but, being on a popular (mainly
pedestrianised) road, it was noisy. Needed
to close windows at night because of the
noise but air conditioning was not always
available (only on hot nights) - so room
could get a bit stuffy.

Great location(very central), clean rooms
and nice staff. However, as the hotel
overlooks one of Florence's most popular
(mainly pedestrianised) streets, I recommend
taking ear-plugs for sleeping if you are
noise sensitive!

the receptionist didnt speak english so it was difficult to have much of a conversation with him and ask questions about the hotel

the hotel was smaller and less well staffed than i expected. our room and bathroom were dark and the building opposite was so close that there was little natural light or privacy. the breakfast was very basic and the two members of staff i saw were polite but didnt speak good english and did not seem to have a good grasp of the information most needed by tourists to a city.
i did not know before staying there that the hotel is actually on the 2nd floor.
