Hotel Davanzati has an excellent location in the heart of Florence. The staff are extremely helpful and eager to assist with any inquiry, and the room rates are reasonable for the location. I recommend the hotel without reservation.

very charming hotel in a great neighborhood, close to shopping, restaurants, and places of interest. the hotel is run by a family that is extremely helpful in coordinating additional activities for your vacation and doing any research necessary. they had a great sense of humor, and we felt apart of the family being there. i would definitely stay there again.

The stairs are a challenge with 6 large bags, but once we got there Fabrizio was just fantastic.

The risk is now that you are rated as the top hotel in Europe (via Trip Advisor.com) expectations shoot up. Fabrizio and family were fantastic and we loved the hotel and will be back. However, for a rating that high we would expect more pillows, more and fluffier towels, things like that. Still, for me, being treated like family was more important.

This was, perhaps, the best hotel experience I or my family have ever experienced. The staff was efficient and friendly. At all times, they greatly added to the pleasure of our stay, and went way above the 'call of duty' on several occasions to help us out. We will be returning to Florence in about a year, and look forward to staying there again. I recommend the hotel to anyone who wants fine rooms in the center or Florence with a staff that makes you part of their family.

The family that owns and operates the Hotel Davanzati is professional and gracious. Our room was clean, quiet, safe and PERFECTLY located near the major sights. They were extremely helpful making reservations for museums and both reservations and recommendations for two of the top restaurants in Florence!

Warm welcome, Fabrizio was very helpful. Check in was quick and efficient.

The whole experience was excellent from arrival to departure. Staff made us feel welcome and took the time to make sure everything we needed was catered for. Fabrizio's dining recommendations were the best, best food, best restaurants. Shame about the rain. worst rain for 50 years apparently, nothing he could do about that though.

The staff at the hotel were very amenable and friendly (they even brought both sets of luggage up the stairs for us!)We were shown to our room,and asked if it was satisfactory, which it was!

We checked out about 10am, but the staff allowed us to leave our luggage in our room until we collected it at 4.30pm that same day.I think this is a service that is not generally offered by hotels, so this hotel should be commended on this, as it helped us a lot!

Tom and Fabrizo knew who I was the second I walked thru the door. It was like they were awaiting my arrival!!! They helped us with our luggage and escorted us to our room. So nice and friendly. They seemed happy to see us!!

The Hotel Davazanti would not be accessible to the handicapped or those in a wheelchair because it is necessary to climb a flight of stairs to access the entrance.
When booking, request a room on the front on the building - they will be quieter.

They checked us out the night before our departure because we had a very early flight. Even then, one of the owners made it a point to help us with luggage before 5 AM the morning we left.

We were suprised when we arrived that getting to the lobby required a walk up a flight of stairs followed by a short ride in an elevator but even so the Hotel Davanzati turned out to be a wonderful place.

Finally, everything was in perfect working condition - most hotels promise air conditioning, but when you arrive, they say that it's broken. (This happened to us at a 4-star hotel.) I would recommend Hotel Davanzati to anyone.

The stairs to the elevator level can be a problem for some people. Perhaps you should mention guests should be able to climb a rather long stairway.
Other than that, I would recommend the Davanzati to anyone. Great value for the money.

It was wonderful- Fabrizio was so helpful even when we came home from a late night out on the town! He was also very helpful at making us reservations to go to the museums, etc. Hotel room was huge- biggest we had in our 2 weeks in Italy and a great value for the money.

Absolutely the kindest and warmest hosts. Have already recommended this place twice. Fabrizio apologized for the location of the room, but it was perfect for us. The room was spacious and came with a bike that we took to dinner on our second night. (I rode on the back.) My favorite three nights out of ten in Italy.

They called us a taxi which came in three minutes and checked on the train schedule and gave us great tips for making things easier.

I enjoy small, boutique, bed and breakfast style accommodation that is well appointed with welcoming and attentive staff. Hotel Davanzanti fitted this description perfectly. It had the added advantage of being quiet but at the same time very centrally located. I would not hesitate to stay there again and to recommend it to friends.

A small, family-run hotel in the middle of all attractions in Florence. Room was very clean, tastefully furnished, reasonably spacious, and had beautiful bathroom facilities. Location of hotel was excellent -- within walking distance to all major attractions. Still, the hotel was quiet and home-like. The staff was amazing -- friendly, helpful, and courteous. We were very, very pleased with the Hotel Davanzati and thought it a deal for what we paid. We recommend the Hotel Davanzati without any reservations and will stay there again the next time we visit Florence.

Hotel Davanzati was a wonderful hotel and its staff took care of every need, including last minute tickets to the Galleria Dell'Accademia and the Uffizi museum.

A charming small hotel with a friendly staff that speaks English and is willing to help you have a wonderful stay in Firenze. The 2 rooms we saw were recently renovated with new bathrooms and exceptionally clean. Additional pluses include a very central location at a reasonable price, a continental breakfast and free Internet access.

This hotel has character and style. In part this derives from it being accommodated in an old building rather than purpose built. Thus the rooms are small (although not by European standards)and access isn't the most convenient. It is located in the heart of Florence. Family owned and the family are there at the reception desk to provide outstanding service. Very strongly recommended.
