The gentleman at reception was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. He went out of his way to assist us at all times and took time to help us find our way around the city. ... We had a Dante room and it was fantastic. ... The entrance to the hotel from the street is not very promising and it does not prepare you for the tremendous standard of the suites. ... Excellent suites and very well positioned for walking to all the major galleries, museums, and restaurants. A great place for a special break.

Greeted by our names when we arrived, our arrival was a promise of the good treatment we would receive throughout our stay. ... The location was great for our purposes. We had large, traditional rooms and a very modern and functional bathroom. ... Very nice personal touch from beginning to end. ... We had a great time in Florence and the Europa was a big part of it. Wonderful rooms, but even more of a treat was the personal attention we received from Gassim and staff. Very helpful, and always good advice.
We stayed in the suites in July of 2004, with a family of five and had big, high-ceiling rooms with frescos on the ceiling. Although facing a busy street, our second floor rooms were quiet because of the thick walls and double windows.
Breakfasts were good, and a pretty good cappucino.
Great value, nice people; we will stay there again on our next visit.

Wonderfully welcoming. Gassim is an extraordinary host whose manner led us to anticipate a lovely time at Europa.
The entrance from the street could be nicer. ... Overall, it was wonderful. Spacious, clean, free of road noise, lovely courtyard view. We could, however, hear conversations in adjoining rooms. ... I would normally say 'good value' but because of the policy of not charging until check-out, I paid about 22% more than I would have when I reserved the room because of the falling dollar. In this sense it was an expensive room. But if I were to return to Florence, I would return to the Europa. ... I think you can't overestimate the value of a fine host. Gassim really 'made' our experience at the Europa. His warmth, good humor, advice, and desire to serve put us at ease after a long and trying trip and helped us to have a positive attitude despite the worsening weather of the season. ... This is an excellent question! (This is being written by a man who gives workshops on creating good questions...) The Europa Suites Hotel is a welcoming, beautifully decorated hotel with service-minded staff who will happily assist you in getting the most out of your stay in Florence. The large rooms face a picturesque courtyard and have recently been redecorated with modern bath fixtures and new furniture done in an antique style. They provide a quiet refuge from the bustle on the street outside. The common rooms reflect the Europa's palazzo heritage with frescoed ceilings elegant furniture and tasteful decor. The central location affords an easy walk to the Duomo, the Tower, the San Lorenzo market and the many other sights in Centro Storico.

Robert and Maria met us, and they couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. The room we booked wasn't available due to an emergency construction problem, so they upgraded us to a much larger suite. ... Our hosts really made us feel like we were staying with family friends and not paying guests. They were always cheerful and more than willing to help by making museum reservations, marking on maps how to get to the best restaurants (their suggestions were perfect!) and just in general made our stay extremely pleasant. Maria's father remembered that our mother liked tea in the evening and would get it for her as soon as he saw us come in without even asking! And upon leaving, Maria hugged us like old friends. Lovely experience! In fact, during our subsequent stay in Rome, we kept saying that our hosts there 'were now Maria and Robert!'. ... They gladly let us leave our luggage in a safe place for the afternoon since we had a late train, and then called us a cab and carried our luggage down for us. ... Just what a perfect location it is in, and the wonderful owners who added a special homestay feeling for us. That was wonderful because we were traveling with our nervous older mother, and they made her feel relaxed. ... A definite must-stay when visiing Florence. Safe area, close to major sites, easy to find, and wonderful hosts. Well worth the money.

Miriam and her Father Gasim were outstanding hosts. They were very concerned that everything was as we wanted. All hotel owners and staff should be a concerned. Rooms were immaculate and large. Breakfast was an excelent european buffet. Location was very close to everything. Will stay here for sure on my next trip to Florence. ... They were ready with an invoice when we went to check out. ... The concern shown by the owner, his daughter and the rest of the staff was what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. ... Exceptionally clean, spacious, friendly and in a great location with a very fair price.

The room itself was very spacious and extremely clean. ... All the transactions were done the night before we left to save time in the morning. ... The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfasts were just perfect, with good variety and they have an amazing, make your own, coffee machine.

The arrival proceedure went smoothly and we were made to feel at home immediately. The manager was very polite and helpful and gave us all the necessary information. ... The staff were always helpful and courteous and consistently went out of their way to make our stay memorable. ... Checking out went very smoothly and again the staff were helpful in keeping luggage during the day until we left and ordering a taxi. ... Free Internet access is provided at the hotel, I don't know if this information is on your web site. ... The Europa Hotel and Suites is the perfect place to stay in Florence. It's in a great location, very close to the major attractions. From the staff to the accommodation to the breakfasts, it was all superb. Actually this is George Facteau. I made all of the trip arrangements for my wife and two friends (one being Stuart White). ... Mr Gassim and his daughter, Miriam, were very helpful and informative during our entire stay. Mr Gassim went out of his way for us and moved my wife and me to another much nicer room after our first night. He did not have to do it, but was extremely gracious in doing so. Miriam gave us excellent recommendations for 2 wonderful restaurants. They were great!!! ... Our stay was wonderful (we all agreed) -- partly because we were in Firenze for the first time and partly because these 2 people were such gracious hosts and made us feel so at home. I have already recommended the Europa to two other couples who may visit Firenze this year. ... I did not realize from the web site how close the Europa actually is to the Accademia and the Duomo. I was very pleasantly surprised. Maybe I missed it or maybe you should place a little more emphasis on distance to major points of interest. ... I have told people that the Europa is a very nice clean hotel owned and operated by a very nice man who really seems to care for his visitors. If you get a room facing the street, it is adequate, but if you get room with a view of the Duomo you will feel very fortunate to have found such a great place at such a reasonable price.

Very lovely rooms - spacious, clean, beautiful and very comfortable. A very special place to stay. ... Don't be bothered by the outside look of the hotel, because inside it is very beautiful. The hotel is on the second floor and at arrival it is not a pretty sight - it had me worried for a while until I got inside. It is also very central and walking distance to almost everything.

Very warm and welcoming ... The hotel Europa room was very well maintained, exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom and shower in particular was modern and powerful and far better than other places that i've stayed in Italy. ... The staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags with them after check out whilst we toured Florence. ... Our room are even better than the pictures on the website and the Hotel is very easy to walk to from the Duomo. The area upstairs where the reception is and where we had breakfast contrasts with the floor below where our room was in that it is more worn and decorated in a different style, but this was not a problem. ... Very easy to choose hotel according to the area that you wish to stay, and the wide choice of pictures made deciding where to stay much easier. ... I can't praise this hotel enough. It was very clean and beautifully decorated, with friendly staff and situated just a few minutes walk from the Duomo and the surrounding shops and restaurants. My stay here certainly enhanced my trip to Florence. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.

Our arrival couldn't had been better, mr.Gassim is an excellent person. ... The Europa Hotel & Suites Hotel staff was incredible, they make us feel at home in every way. We were on our honeymoon, and we can count this hotel to be the one that we enjoy the best in our trip. ... Just one, when we left the hotel, we went to the train terminal and we kind of forgot the receipt of the hotel, mr.Gassim took the trouble to get to the train station to give the paper to us. We have no words to thank him for this gesture. ... The quality of the service is 'top of the line', really this is an outstanding hotel in Italy. ... This is a hotel that you can relax on, you'll be treated by the staff of this hotel as you we're a VIP, they trully make an effort to make you feel at home. The place is good for the money you pay, they're very close to the Duomo area so you'll walk very little to get there, also they can arrange tickets reservation to the main museums (you'll have to ask in advance to make this accountable). If we're going back to Florence, we'll book again in Europa Hotel & Suites for sure.

It was a haven after a long day of site seeing. Having a computer on site was a lifesaver. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only change I would make would be to upgrade the breakfast a touch. Coffee was often cold and cereal was weak. Some fruit would have been nice, even a bowl of apples or bananas. It was the best value for teh money I got in all of Italy! ... Good value for the money. I stayed as a single in a suite and my room was spacious and charming. I don't know what the standard rooms were like, but my room was terrific, with a rooftop view. It was quiet except for teh lovely church bells I heard every morning. Really great location, near the Duomo, which helped to find my way home each night.

We cannot say enough good things about Hotel Europa and its staff. From the moment we got there to the moment we left, Gassim, Miriam and Robert were nothing but thoughtful, helpful and friendly!! ...
