 The hotel, seat of an ancient patrician palace placed in the heart of Reinassance Florence, with charming sight on "Ponte Vecchio" and the hills behind, distinguish itself for the harmony and the gauged elegance typical of the Florentine taste.  The Excelsior Hotel has been undergone under important restoration works; the new guise places the prestigious hotel among the more technologically advanced of the Italian hotelerie, able to offer to its guests high quality services in a context of refined and historical beauty. The facade of the building, completely repainted, has been moreover embellished by a lighting system more in keeping with the central positioning of the hotel in one of the most renowed and ancient squares of the city. |
 The first phase of the restoration works has interested the part of the building called "Italie", that comprises approximately 75 of the 168 total rooms. The remaining rooms have been restructured in a following phase, recently finished, that has moreover interested: the Reception and the multifunctional rooms "Vespucci", "Green" and "Intermediate ". At the end of the works the total number of the rooms has turned out considerably reduced in advantage to a best comfort. |
 The front desk and the reception placed to the left of the main entrance, the sophisticated blue used in order to redecorate in "encaustic" manner the lacunar ceiling supported by four splendid Doric columns, a complete repositioning of the lighting system, as well as a new more pleasant and comfortable furnishing, made the hall a great extensive ambience in which the customers of the hotel and that one passing can meet guests, read a book or more simply wait for the routine formalities to be carried out. |

Historical Notes:
The hotel was born in 1927 from the fusion of two contiguous lodges, the "De la Ville" and the "Italie" that, after important works of modernization and of connection between the two buildings, gave life to an unique complex called "Excelsior Italie". |
