The hotel staff were extremely helpful ... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Fiesole - nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We would have no hesitiation in recommending it and would certainly stay there again if we travelled to Florence. ... Absolutely charming, friendly, a breath of fresh air away from the heat and crowds of Florence with the most wonderful views over the city.

positive; very nice people; a nice room with a marvellous view; good breakfast
negative; a beautiful bathroom, but a ''waterballet'' when one showers, so much work for the roomservice afterwards ... nice and convenient with the busstop just in front a helpful reception.

Somewhat flip and distracted...later desk personel more affable and supportive ... Senior waiter was brusk and unprofessional ... Pool was dirty and under repair...it was prime motivation for booking...great views. ... Hilltop lush and intimate..needs an attitude and management adjustment.

We arrived quite late but the hotel staff was there prepared for our arrival and we were in our rooms in a matter of minutes.
My only recommendation would be that they find a way to put in a ramp from the front of the hotel to the parking lot so that one is not bumping and pulling suitcases up two sets of stairs to the hotel. ... The Hotel Villa Fiesole was by far my favorite European hotel experience. The location is beautiful with excellent and inexpensive transportation into Florence. It provides the best of both worlds - the peace of a hotel outside the hustle and bustle of the big city with the convenience of city living nearby. The staff were friendly, helpful and a delight to be around and the room was comfortable and larger than most I have experienced.
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again the very next chance I get.
... Check out was quick and efficient and our cab was waiting for us in the parking lot. Again, a ramp would have made departure a bit easier than carrying heavy suitcases down the stairs! ... Emphasise the convenience and low cost of the bus service both to Fiesole and into Florence and the fact that in the off season there is only one restaurant within walking distance (in case you don't feel like waiting for the bus). ... The best European hotel I have ever stayed in - with exceptional value and service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Fiesole. We had a magnificent room with balcony overlooking Florence. The breakfasts on the balcony were lovely and we even enjoyed two fabulous dinners on the verandah. We would love to go back. ... None ... None ... As above. Wonderful accommodation overlooking Florence with a bus at the door. The room was spacious, bathroom large and a magnificent balcony with view. The verandah for breakfast was a delightful place to start your day.

The hotel staff is very nice and the hotel very well appointed with probably the best view of Florence from anywhere. Absolutely perfect! ... Friendly staff. Nice room with wonderful views and a great breakfast. The little town of Fiesole is a wonderful place to sightsee also.

The breakfast is of a high quality and staff were courteous and helpful. The prices in the restaurant for drinks and food were we feel slightly on the high side. ... A perfect retreat after a hard day sightseeing. Beautiful view over Florence yet easy to get to by public transfport.

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel. I experienced a few disappointments during this stay as follows: There was no hot water for approximately 3 hours in the morning which caused a delay in my ability to get showered and start my day. I was unable to sleep one night due to the time difference in my traveling. I went down to the lobby only to find the receptionist asleep (snoring) on the couch. Finally, I requested an early wake-up call and taxi on the day of departure to catch a 7:55am flight and they neglected to call my room. This necessitated a 30 minute wait (and payment) for the taxi and I barely got to the airport to catch my flight back to the USA. ... Please see the above comments. ... The hotel is beautifully appointed but the service as stated above was markedly below standard for the amount of money/room.

The signage could be improved. We parked at the beginning of the lot, took the stairs up and it turned out to be a dead-end at the pool. It would have been helpful to have an arrow indicating reception was to the left ... Rather than 'exactly', I would say 'pretty much' what was described - less charming and smaller than I expected. ... Evening dining was available, but relatively minimal. The waiter was excellent, the wine good, but the food was not the best. Had we known that, we would have made the effort to drive up the hill to the town of Fiesole. Our meal was disappointing. ... Villa Fiesole is halfway up the hill to Fiesole, perched on the side of the mountain, a small, quiet, fairly-recently renovated hotel with small clean rooms and a view facing Florence. Convenient to Fiesole and the Florence airport. Signage to the airport from Fiesole is relatively well-marked and not hard to follow.

Receptionist was pleasant enough, however, l thought he could have offered assistance with our luggage, as we arrived late (22:00) and it was raining, l had to haul two suitcases across a court byard and up two flights of stairs!!!! ... Room was not Air conditioned. This caused my wife big problems, as the warm room temperature was a haven for mosquitos, my wife was bitten 13 times in one night!! Our thoughts were that the hotel could have provided plugin mosquito preventers. Also, our room was situated at the back of the building, with a large wall a view...not great. ... We were hit with an unexpected bill for laundry. As we were travelling round Europe we had built up dirty washing, my wife found out that the hotel would complete your laundry, we checked for any literature on costs but found nothing, our thoughts were that they would wash our clothes....this was not the case, each item was washed, ironed, and indivdually packed this came at a cost of €109!!!!!!! We were very unhappy about this, the hotel refused to budge on paying half due to lack of information supplied. ... No air conditioning in the rooms. ... Very nice building and surroundings. Don't get the laundry done. Staff could show a bit more willing to help, for a hotel of such good standings.

Only thing i would note is that the restaraunt which was of very good quality closed at 11pm and the bar was not open, you would have to leave the hotel if you wanted a few drinks after dinner.

They provided a porter, and were most welcoming ... The room was lovely and had an excellent view. The bathroom was also very updated. ... Beautiful location, lovely and peaceful place to stay ~ only a 15 minute bus ride to Florence.

Our arrival was fine, however, we might have appreciated help with our luggage to our room. ... We would return to Hotel Villa Fiesole and plan to do so again! ... We found the hotel to be wonderful overall and the staff just terrific! Very good about arranging dining or suggestions. However, there was a problem with too much heat in our room and no way to cool it off. It made for difficult sleeping at night. Opening the window was not an option, due to being on the ground floor. We felt that it was not safe from intruders, either human or animal! Next time, we will request an upper level room. ... This place has the most wonderful view of Florence from the front terraces! Very nice accomodations overall, you would like it here!

The drive to the hotel was a nice one. The views from the hillside are quite stunning. ... Fiesole is a bit distant from Florence tourist and shopping areas. The taxi fares to and from Florence were costly. ... Nice

The hotel was fully booked and we got a small junior suite, cheaper than the 2 rooms we had asked for but unconfortable for 2 adults and 2 children aged 17 and 14. The swimming pool is very small and unconfortable when more than 6 people are around, Anyway was pleasant to be able to stay out of florence and be able to take a bus direct to the center. ... swimming pool very small. Dinning room not appropriate ... pleasant if you do not want to spend much time in the hotel.
