Swimming Pool With a curved shape like a small lake, surrounded by flowers, shrubs, olives and cypress trees, our swimming pool is open from the end of May to September and, like the sun terrace, commands a spectacular view of Florence. It is equipped with garden umbrellas and deckchairs. Towels for the swimming pool are at guests' disposal.
Breakfast Continental Breakfast, based on cakes and jams made by the owner herself from the fruits of the garden.
Other services We also organize Italian language course, painting and sculpture course, wine tasting and cookery Course. Bookings for the principal Florentine museums and for the ItineRARI coach tours. We also organise breakfast to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays.

Wine, olive oil and honey are produced at a nearby farmhouse, and other products such as sausages and cheese are made and sold in local shops.
Food shops can be found in the nearby villages of San Romolo, Villamagna, Candeli and Vallina. Bagno A Ripoli (ten minutes' drive) has a supermarket, post office, church, bank and shops. There are numerous restaurants (open on Sundays) in the vicinity of Casale Fontibucci, and we shall be happy to make recommendations upon request. Just a few kilometres from Casale Fontibucci, there are 2 riding-schools (enabling guests to visit the countryside around the estate on horseback), tennis courts and a golf club. |
Dating to the Middle Ages numerous sites of worship (Churches and Oratories) house a heritage of works of art which illustrate the evolution of religious culture. Visit the Pieve di Villamagna (XI century), the San Lorenzo Church (XIV/XV Century) in Vicchio di Rimaggio, and the Benedectine Monastry (XII Century). In Rosano the Gualchiere di Remole is one of the oldest fulling mills in the vicinity of Florence, where the famous traditional woollen cloth was produced. Create your own itineraries: pleasant walks along the ancient roads where you can enjoy delightful views over the countryside and discover artistic treasures. Hiking: San Romolo - Villamagna - Poggio Incontro - Villamagna - San Romolo (map) 8.5 km, 3 hours; Maximum height difference 86 m. This itinerary takes in the Pieve di San Donnino (Romanesque style), the Oratory of Beato Gherardo (XIV Century) and the Convento Dell'Incontro. The terrace in front of the church commands a magnificent view of Florence and its surroundings. Chianti & Mugello Area by Car Chianti: San Romolo - Florence - S. Polo - Greve - Panzano - Impruneta - Firenze, 110 KM Pleasant excursions can be arranged to visit wine cellars, savour typical foodstuffs and appreciate artistic treasures in the Chianti area, one of the most fascinating districts of the Tuscan countryside.
The Florentine Chianti, famous for the production of Chianti wine, includes the districts of the towns of Greve, San Casciano, Tavarnelle Val Di Pesa and Barberino Val D'Elsa.
Mugello: The Homeland of the Medici San Romolo - Pontassieve - Rufina - Dicomano and Back ( map ). The Mugello area comprises the first stretch of the valley of the river Sieve as far as Vicchio and is usually considered part of the Florentine Apennine area. The itinerary extends several kilometres from San Romolo, amidst rolling hills and tall cypress trees, against the background of mountain peaks and passes. The Rufina and Pomino Chianti Wine Road was set up in 1997 and takes in the area around the towns of Pontassieve, Rufina, Pelago, Londa and Dicomano.
