The hotel is clean and tastefully decorated; the room and bath were spacious; the staff was both helpful and polite; the location is great (proximate to great sightseeing, dining and shopping); the room was plagued by street noise. I would definately stay there again and recommend it to others but ask for a more quiet room.

There seemed to be no limit to the effort they were willing to expend to help us solve a shipping problem. I have no words to express our appreciation to them.

Clean, well furnished rooms, convenient restaurant in the lobby or a good pizzaria next door. An ideal location for reaching tourist sites (next to the Bargello and half-way between the Duomo and the Uffizi). The hotel staff is superb.

Entrance and reception is very grand but as soon as you enter an unpleasant smell associated with neglect greets you.

Hotel is very run down and the room we had is in urgent need of refurbishment. Facilities are lacking and not up to the standards of a 4 star hotel. There is no bar or restaurant or room service or any services you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

The hotel star rating is very misleading. 4 stars raise false expectations of services and facilities. This is more like a guesthouse than a hotel.

We were greeted by name as we arrived at the Hotel and the receptionist was extemly professional and accomodating

We had several revisions to our requirements during our stay, i.e. needed an additional room for a niece who joined us, and the hotel staff were accomodating and gracious in meeting our needs.

Very good property centrally located in Florence within walking distance to all major sites. Staff are professional, gracious and willing to accomodate all requests. Staff more than willing to book tours, restaraunt reservations, etc.
Everyone was freindly, polite and more than willing to offer assistance as required.

There was one man at the reception desk who seemed to be on duty most of the time and was exceptionally helpful.
We actually expected the puplic rooms to be more luxiurious.

We had expected that there have be a proper hotel type restaurant instead of the more Bistro sort.

The staff was very friendly and helpful in all respects. Even in regards to the elevator ride...I am little cloustrofobic!! I walked up to the 4th floor everyday!We all enjoyed a laugh over this!
In regards to the staff...We discovered that we left our camera on the train from Venice to Florence...within seconds of detailing our story Salvatore was on the phone trying to find the means of retreiving our camera...after many phone calls a little despair...and lots of perservernce.....he managed to track down our camera! Definetly went beyond the call of duty!

The Grand Hotel Cavour was certainly understated! It is a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and very friendly and knowledgable staff. I would stay here again and again.

I would tell a friend that it was one of the most spacious hotels right in the heart of the city, Most of the hotels in Italy are small however this one was truly Grand!

Great location, room was very large compared to Italian standards. Also very modern and clean. The view from the room was great and the rooftop garden view breathtaking. We stayed here 4 years ago and liked it so much is why we came back. I think it is even better now.

Breakfast service was not particularly good. Fresh fruit provided one morning only in five days. Whenever Yoghurt ran out it stayed that way, despite requests. Unfriendly staff in the breakfast room to boot.

An atmospheric hotel with an Italian flavour. Roomy, comfortable accommodations. One of the best locations in the historic centre, close to major sights, amidst restaurants and shopping.

We walked from the train station with little trouble. The staff was helpful when we got there hot and tired.

Our rooms were comfortable, breakfast was ok, and the location was good- we had no trouble walking whereever we needed to go- even with kids.

The bar next door is a good place to get a drink (we took ours up to the roof, which was lovely) but it is not associated with the hotel and can be loud. A quiet spot within the hotel would be nice.

The hotel is very pleasant, with a helpful staff, and a good location. We really enjoyed the rooftop views, especailly in the evening.

AS WE WERE NOT LEAVING FLORENCE UNTIL THE EVENING THE HOTEL WERE HAPPY TO LOOK AFTER OUR LUGGAGE AFTER WE HAD CHECKED OUT UNTIL
WE RETURNED LATER IN THE AFTERNOON WHICH WAS
MOST HELPFUL.

THE HOTEL IS VERY CENTRAL AND WITH IN EASY WALKING DISTANCE OF ALL THAT FLORENCE HAS TO OFFER. AFTER A DAY EXPLORING THE MANY
STREETS,PIAZA'S AND HISTORIC BUILDINGS AS WELL AS SAMPLING THE FANTASTIC ITALIAN FOOD,
THE COOL,PEACEFUL ATMPOSPHERE OF THE HOTEL
WAS A WELCOME RELIEF.

Our only complaint about the hotel is in respect of breakfast and the staff. The breakfast provided was poor and the waiting staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. All the other staff were excellent - especially reception.
