The receptionist Rossellina was very helpful when I arrived after a 6 hour flight delay in Frankfurt. Talked to the taxi driver to help me with my luggage. ... Victor, Rossellina, Sue and George(part owner) were very friendly and always helpful with maps, directions, taxis etc. They made me feel very welcome. ... Rossellina booked a taxi for me for my early morning departure, before she left at 8:00 PM. The living room with TV was offered for my evening before I left, when I would be alone. I enjoyed this. ... The only thing I missed was music and perhaps TV. I felt I had excellent personal service, help with charging my cell phone etc. We became friends. ... Elegant, clean, comfortable and in the best central location in Florence. I was very lucky to find it on your website after a great deal of searching.

Your two service people were excellent and very helpful.
We spent more time with the late shift employee (female) who gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and helped us with an accommodation contact in Rome. ... The only flaw we experienced was the the 'light italian breakfast' was in fact a cardboard breakfast. Everything out of a box. I know you don't have overnight staff, but please review an alternative and charge accordingly. Since I am not a breakfast person, I still found my visit to be a 'five star' experience. ... stress location, location, location as you are truly in the heart of all the action ... excellent choice at an exceptional price
as a general note, I spent a considerable amount of time researching accommodation options for our three week trip to the Tuscany & Umbria area and found your web site to be my favourite. keep up the good work.

Very convenient, clean, quiet with windows closed (busy street below), breakfast minimal but what we expected. Staff was helpful with some arrangements we were attempting to make (without success on our own).

our room over looked the street which I found noisey at night. If there is an off street room, perhaps it could be offered to the guest when booking the reservation, ... I did not have the opportunity to view the web site. I hope it is mentioned that R. Giotto is in the center of Florence-an easy walk to everything. There was not a phone in the room. The staff was helpful in making local calls for us, however calling home (to the U.S.) was difficult. If we had been successful in placing a call home, it would have been awkward talking in the reception area. ... Great location. Courteous staff, A clean and comfortable stay.

clear, easy and I liked the fact I put in my dates and needs and several suitable b&bs wrote back with rates and availability. ... sadly the lift was out of order and the residenza is on the top floor! ... beautiful rooms, great views, great to have our own keys. Only negative was the tray breakfast - it seems a crime to serve powdered nescafe in Italy! My husband ate his cereal out of the bowl for tea bags. I had my breakfast across the road at Gilli. ... the lift was working at this point! ... breakfast is self serve in the room ... Clean, comfortable, elegantly furnished rooms. Easy, relaxed atmosphere. A great place to stay in Florence and I will return. But breakfast is a little meager.

The receptionist was very helpful, friendly and could speak English ... The room's floor was a bit dusty, and the shower floor was a bit dirty upon arrival! The view of the bell tower was fantastic. Great location. The shower space is TINY! The room was nice and spacious though. Most of the previous guests on the website commented on the breakfast, so I expected it to be poor. I would suggest that they drop the breakfast completely (and adjust cost of stay accordingly). Maybe just offer coffee. The receptionist was very friendly & helpful.
... Perhaps give a better description of physical address, as it is quite difficult to spot the entrance. The numbers of the buildings are not marked clear and is not always in the right order. It is on the 4th floor of a building, and not a typical hotel with clear signage outside the entrance. I would reccommend this for a short stay only, as the breakfasts are really non-existent and the shower is to small and clausterphobic. But it was fine for 1 night. ... Conveniently situated, within walking distance from station and main historic attractions, shops and restaurants. Although we were 2 girls travelling alone, we felt very safe, even at night. Room had a nice view of the Duomo/bell tower.

It would have been helpful to know that it was next to Gucci since the street is so busy it was a bit hard to find the address. Also people need to know how to be buzzed in, we had to go and call to get in. It was not too hard to find, but it could have been easier. ... The staff was wonderful, the room very nice and best of all was the location. I would recommended this to anyone. we enjoyed this very much. Also you should let people know that it is only a 7 minute walk from the train station. ... see above. ... That the place is charming, great location, and very clean. The balcony is great.

Redidenza Giotto is immaculate as far as cleanliness. The staff was very helpful in answering questions and meeting our needs. The location is great, I can't say enough. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you ... I'm looking forward to using your website again. Thank you ... As I said before, we couldn't have been happier. The staff and room were excellent. ... They have a lovely terrace where to sit and enjoy the breakfast provided. They have amenities (hairdryers etc.) which they provide for you. These are not in the room but if you ask they get them for you immediately. ... I was not disappointed in any way. ... I would tell them the residence is very clean. The room was decorated in excellent taste. The staff was polite and helpful. It is a little hard to find since the address is inside a residence, otherwise we were very pleased. They recommended great restaurants for us too.

We stayed at this hotel (3 single girls) in June of 2005 in a triple room. We loved it here, location was perfect, two from the Piazza (next store to Gucci). If and when I go back to Florence I will be staying at this place and would highly recommend to friends. Photos of the rooms on the web are accurate; in fact I think our room was the photo on the web. ... Location, Location. Location - can't get any better than this place. On the balcony you can see the top of the Duomo and you can sit there with a nice bottle of wine and watch the world go by.

We had a very warm welcome; the owner and receptionist came to meet us at the elevator and help us with our luggage. They were immediately very helpful in making reservations at several galleries and recommending an excellant restaurant ... We had a wonderful room with a view overlooking the Doma and enjoyed the rooftop patio; the in room breakfast offering and coffee maker in the common area were mediocre. ... The rooms and location were great! We had a magnificent view of the Doma at sunset, which we especially enjoyed with a glass of wine on the rooftop patio! The owner and receptionist were very warm and helpful! We had a delightful stay and would highly recommend this B & B to our best freiends. ... see above!

I was there for less than 24 hours. I was greeted by a very helpful person, Christian. I even asked for a recommedation for dinner and he not only made the reservation but provided a map as how to get there. The room was beautiful and it was a very agreeable situation and stay. ... See #5 ... Very central location, right around the corner from the Duomo and down the street from Piazza de la Republica. It is 4 stories up and is on a busy street, so could be a little noisy at night. I turned on the AC and blocked it out. ... Charming, beautiful rooms.

Might want to consider paying your bill the night before you leave if you are departing early. Sometimes staff was not available in the morning until about 0900. We did this and it worked fine. ... You might want to include that Residenza Giotto is right next to the Gucci store. We didn't have any problems locating it, but have seen on several forums that others had some difficulty. Additionally, there were a few problems with water temperature fluctuations, but there was always enough hot water if you re-adjusted it slightly. ... Our stay at Residenza Giotto was great. Very helpful staff who spoke English well. Perfect location next to the Duomo for visiting all the sights in Florence. The longest walk we had was to the church of Santa Croce and that was only about 15 minutes away. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. The rooftop terrace was wonderful. We put together a meal from the local market and had dinner there one evening looking out over the rooftops of Florence. Breakfast was pretty basic and standard for most places in Europe and was served in the room. I had read that some people were disappointed by this part of their stay as the packaged croissants and toast were not to their liking. It was not a problem for us. Our room (number 6) was very spacious by European standards. Bathroom was on the small side, but very functional. This was probably our favorite place to stay for our trip based on price, room and location. Highly recommend this bed and breakfast for your stay in Florence.

Excellent service, very friendly and proficient. ... The only gripe I had was with the lift. It only really fit one person with a buggy. So either myself and my wife had to take turns to use the stairs. ... Exceptional!. We had planned on spending some hours in Florence before returning to rome, and the girl at the counter let us leave our luggage with them while we did some site seeing. ... Very enjoyable stay and would definitely book again if/when returning to Florence. ... Already have!

The room was great and the staff was helpful. They had water in a fridge that was paid on the honor system. This was very nice, because it was hot in Florence at the time. The only thing I would change is the addition of breakfast. Breakfast is in the room the day before and it is all prepackaged with instant coffee. I would rather have taken $5 off the room charge and not have the breakfast. Staying in Italy and having instant coffee just seems wrong.
We would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. ... I was disappointed with breakfast, but apart from that every was more the pleasant. ... Suggestion: Breakfast could be served FRESH on the rooftop as opposed to left in your room the day of arrival for the following morning. This would also faciliate meeting other guests. ... Great location, very clean and quiet.

We did not have the directions published online, so cannot comment on that. Everything about the check-in upon arrival was very good. Staff was very good about calling garage to pick up our car. ... The rooms were very nice and comfortable and thank goodness the air conditioning worked! Slept very well both nights. ... Staff was very helpful in calling garage at time we planned to check out. ... I'm sure the great location is already included on the web site. If not, it should be! ... Quiet, very clean and nice. In a great location. Very personal and different from your mainstream hotel. Almost made you feel as if you were actually living in Florence.

We enjoyed our stay here. The ladies at the front desk were really nice and extremely helpful. They made the place really. Our bathroom was a little smelly on arrival. After running water down the pipes it was ok though. The courtyard/balcony area was also smelly one night(probably not their fault however, just old plumbing??). Other than that the room was clean and spacious. It is a great location. We had a view of the Duomo which was nice.

I was expecting more of palace type of atmosphere. The coffee ans continental breakfast were a disappointment. I believe that Nescafe was used to make expresso. The continental breakfast was pre-packaged food found in the room. The air conditioning went off or was turned down at night. The toiletries (bar soap etc.)were mininal. ... The location made the cost worthwhile. ... It was very nice to have the patio with the view of the Duomo. ... The atmosphere was not as expected but adequate and I felt safe.

very easy to find. someone was there when we arrived. she was most helpful, and suggested a very good restuarant for dinner-the best dinner we had during our 11 days in Italy. we were very happy with the accomodations and the service. she even called us a taxi for our departure very early the next morning. the room was very small, but it had a wonderful view of the duomo. i would stay there again, but only for a short stay. there is not much room to store suitcases, we had to stack our 2 suitcases in the corner by the bed, so you had to crawl over the bed to get to the bathroom. the room was clean and cozy!! ... see above

Given the number of one way streets, it was very difficult to get to the Residenza Giotto simply by looking for the street on a map. I had never been to Florence before and simply telling me to 'follow directions to the city center' was far from sufficient. Providing very detailed directions from the Autostrade would have been extremely helpful -- including letting me know which exit would be best to use. In addition, on your map, you have the star on the wrong side of the street. ... Very accomodating in terms of allowing us to store our luggage -- both before our room was ready, and after we checked out. Appreciated having a refrigerator available for us to store some perishables. ... I did not like the fact that if you are in the room, the door is unlocked from the outside unless locked with the key on the inside. I think this is a safety issue -- I want to keep people from getting in, but if there's an emergency, I shouldn't have to unlock the door with a key. ... Small but quaint room. Reasonably priced accomodations in an ideal and central location.

We really enjoyed our stay. The only complaint would be that when a hotel says you will be given breakfast in your room, you assume that it will be fresh, you do not expect it to have been sitting in your room the day before with packaged coissants, instant coffee and room tempature milk. ... Just the breakfast info and maybe the fact that reception is closed all night. ... Nice and clean, in the perfect location. Not too expensive.

The receptionist was polite but not particularly welcoming. Her English was excellent. ... The location is excellent and our room was very clean and quite large. It was not clear to me that breakfast 'in the room' meant pre-packaged croissant and cereal in the room. I expected a breakfast room with option to dine in the room. The coffee was 'instant,' which is unacceptable. The elevator for this building (of which Residenza Giotto is on the top (4th) floor) is shared and exceptionally small. It is about the size of a telephone booth and very difficult for two adults to use, let alone with luggage. ... Well-handled and professional. ... The views of the Duomo from both the bedroom and bathroom, as well as the shared terrace were spectacular. The bathroom was large and clean, but the shower does not drain well (floor not recessed). It was easy to have a small flood in there! ... Considering the location, immediately next to the Baptistry and Duomo, the rooms were very quiet. Of course, when the bells rang in the campinile, it was quite loud but only lasted a few minutes each time in the morning and evening.

Yes, I would. BUT i was very disappointed that the rooms didn't actually have phones in them. This was one MAJOR reason for choosing this hotel, considering i was traveling alone and wanted to stay in close contact w/my family. An excellent location, a nice room, and friendly, helpful staff. There was one feature that we didn't care for. We weren't sure what 'breakfast in room' meant in the listing. We were a little disappointed by the inferior quality of this, although it's clear that serving a fresh breakfast in a breakfast room whould make Residenze Giotto more expensive, and cost was one other reason why we chose it. How about 'real' caffinated coffee? And maybe freshly baked rolls in the TV room brought in by the first staff member in the mornings? Would those changes add substantially to the cost? ... We didn't need road directions as we took a cab. ... Everything went smoothly without it. ... Had many of our arrangements already worked out. ... See above regarding 'breakfast in room.' ...
