We were very pleased with this hotel and would highly recommend it. They had put us in a room with a double bed so when I asked for 2 beds we were put in one of their apartments which was excellent. One of our bags was missing on arrival at Pisa and the receptionist took over the follow up and seemed to genuinely care. A special mention for Roberto who was fun and very efficient. The breakfast was also excellent. ... As above. Very pleased. ... Very quiet and whilst in a residential area is within comfortable walking distance of both the main Firenze area and the other side of the river eg. Piazzale Michaelangelo. A very good local ristorante next door. Room service was very good.

Very good about giving tourist directions upon arrival. ... Air Conditioning did not work very well. Breakfast was very limited. Should have Museum information at the front desk to making arrangement to beat the long lines. ... Credit Card Machine did not work .... had to use the old one. ... Close to a camera / Fi Fi store (very helpful). Close to bus stop and bus tickets are sold at the front desk. ... Hotel has a very nice and helpful staff.

Nice place to stay, but a bit of a walk to the major attractions.

The Hotel Grifone wasn't actually on the map on the directions page. A better map would be very useful. ... A really lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Florence.

Hotel Grifone is a lovely hotel. We took a taxi from the train station and the driver new the hotel which is 'out in the suburbs.' It was actually only a short walk to the center of Florence. It was extremely quiet and pleasant. There were a couple of local restaurants in the neighborhood, one which was exceptional. Grifone is also just around the corner from a bus. However, one must be clear about where to get off!!. We'll go back there if we're in Florence again. Thanks. ... See above

The initial receptionist was very friendly. Our room was not initially ready and we came back 30 minutes later. A different receptionist was on duty. He was not friendly and gave us no information. We had a long wait in the foyer for someone to show us to our room. No explanation was given as to why we had to wait or how long it would be. Bad start to the stay. ... TThe stay was spoiled by the attitute of the majority of the reception staff who were rude and unhelpful. ... Details as to the bus service and the fact that you can buy tickets from reception would be helpful. As strangers you do not know that you need a ticket before you board the bus or that these can be purchased from the hotel. You do need to use the bus to get into the centre as it is quite a walk. ... Nice room, nice accomodation. A little way out of Florence. Shame about the reception staff. (Save for one receptionist who was very helpful.)

There was a parking place available at the hotel. ... Our room was located in another building next to the hotel building with reception and breakfast room. ... Fair value for money. Good location for a city trip of Florence.

From the rail station Sta Maria Novela to the hotel we took a lot of time walking. It is located very far from the center. We suggest taking a taxi. ... If we compare this hotel with a three stars hotel in Spain, it doesn't correspon a three stars hotel.
