Staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. ... This hotel is a real jewel -- well located and superb staff. ... I was travelling with my sister. It was easy to split the bill on two credit cards a day before departure. ... It has a lovely set of antique items both in public spaces and in the rooms. It is very much its own museum. ... A jewel of a hotel, well located and appointed with a great staff!

The breakfasts were really nice, lots of variety, though we appear to have been charged for having cappucinos! The male receptionist (can't remember his name)referred us to two fantastic restaurants nearby, they were absolutely great. ... The room was huge and so was the bathroom which was spotless. ... It is always a shock to us how much accommodation costs in Europe, but thats the way it is. ... Good location, especially for seeing 'David'.Very clean with a nice blend of old Europe and modern fixtures.

Lady at the desk was very helpful and answered all my questions. ... The hotel was quiet and peaceful, even though the street outside was very noisy. Loved the decor. Lighting in the room was very dark though. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent. I would return but request a room on an inner courtyard so I could open a window-I was on the Via Cavour side and could not because of the noise of the street. Also, air conditioning was not working the week I was there and the room was very warm. ... Courtyard rooms vs. streetside rooms. Location in proximity to Duomo and main attractions was excellent. ... Beautifully appointed rooms in a very old structure. Calm and peaceful hotel in the eye of the storm that is central Florence.

Reception was very friendly/polite/helpful. Reception made excellent suggestions as to a good place to have lunch after our arrival. ... The rooms were extremely spacious and very clean. The decor was beautiful. The price of the rooms was excellent for the quality. Service was excellent. I, and my traveling companions, would absolutely return to Il Guelfo Bianco Hotel. ... Check out was expedited in a quick and efficient manner. ... An excellent accomodation for the price. ... This is a Hotel that I would recommend to anyone. Spacious, beautiful, very clean accomodations. The Hotel was what I imagined an accomodation in Italy to be.

We stayed in Room 442 which is on the 5th floor (4th in the US) and our window opened out for a view of the rooftops and dome and bell tower. While the view was great there were sewer gas odors at times as the vents from the sewer lines were just outside our window. If the wind was from the Duomo direction the window had to be closed. ... We were planning on using Euro Travelers Checks to pay for our stay until we advised of a 1 Euro per check fee. Might want to advise clients of this. ... Excellant location in the center of most sightseeing activities. Very clean and the staff was more than accomodating; booking resteraunt reservations, providing directions and answering questions in general. Neat little outside sitting area accross from our room where a smoker can smoke, have lunch or just gaze at the stars.

The hotel was very nice but the front desk staff were just the worst. There was one nice guy that carry our bags and also worked at the kitchen.

Very helpful advising us on parking given the restrictions at their address. ... I expected a fuller kitchen facility based on the description, but the lack of such did not affect our stay negatively.
We were given misinformation about the time of the Easter morning festivities (fireworks) at the Duomo, which unfortunately caused our children to miss it. ... Nice atmosphere and decor for a central location.
