Hotel Hermes is a strong reality check when you are arriving from a stay in a superb pensione in Taormina overlooking the sea and Calabria. But, in Italia you can get very different things by the same price, according to the location and Florence is quite expensive!

That saying, the hotel is clean, our room was very quite, the location is excellent (in Florence the area around the train station is not at all deteriorated, such as in Rome or Naples) and there are wonderful restaurants at walking distances (in the direction to the River Arno). The staff politeness varies a lot; An elder gentleman stated that he would hold our passports till check-out; I decided instead to pay in advance to have them, what was not in accordance with the booking vaucher. However, there was a very charming and helpful lady working in the afternoon.

The room is very spacious but the bathroom is very thin; when you take a shower everything get wet.
