Adjacent to the city centre, San Salvi is a quiet area. Shops and little morning markets are mainly visited by Florentines. A few steps away you can find coffee bars, restaurants, "gelateria" (ice-cream parlour), cinemas, fitness-clubs, the public swimming pool, the football (soccer) stadium, various sports clubs (athletic, rugby, baseball etc.), a small park with children play ground and more. In a twenty minutes stroll along Via Gioberti with its beautiful shops, across Piazza Beccaria, you reach the city centre in Santa Croce. |

Highway (Autostrada) A1, arriving from North: follow always the signs Direction "Roma" and take the exit "Firenze Sud", go straight until the traffic light at the end of the ramp, then turn left, following "Centro". Follow signs "Fiesole", cross the bridge over the railway and turn right at the first traffic light into "Via Tito Speri". After 200 meters you will reach "San Salvi square" we are at house no.13.
Highway (Autostrada) A1, arriving from South: simply leave the highway at "FIRENZE SUD" and follow the above instructions.
Highway (Autostrada) A11, arriving from West: before arriving at Florence, follow the signs "Roma" and enter Highway A1 direction "Roma", take the exit "FIRENZE SUD" and follow the above instructions.
Motorway (FI-PI-LI): arriving from West: before arriving at Florence, follow the signs and enter in Highway A1 direction ROMA, take the exit "FIRENZE SUD" and follow the above instructions.
Motorway (Siena-Firenze): arriving from Siena: at the end of the "Superstrada" follow signs for Highway A1 direction ROMA, take the exit "FIRENZE SUD" and follow the above instructions.
Airport Florence-Peretola: take a taxi (20-30min.)
Airport Pisa-Galileo Galilei: take the direct train or bus to Florence Santa Maria Novella Central Station and from there a taxi (10-15min.).
Florence Campo di Marte Station: the closest train station is "Firenze Campo di Marte".
Firenze SMN Station: Santa Maria Novella is the main train station, which is at 10 - 15 min by taxi. Arriving at Firenze SMN it is better to take a taxi; or you can take any bus (17, 1, etc.) to "Piazza San Marco" and from there change to either the bus 6 or 20 and get off at the stop "Lungo l'Affrico" |
