This was a nice hotel in a quiet street. The exterior looked very unassuming but the interior was really nice.

the train station had no trolleys and i had a very difficult time coz my bags were heavey .

only that we could hear the footsteps of people in the room above us when they walk and next door room when they have their T.V on a little loud . Overall the room is beautiful spacious and authentic

This was the nicest hotel we stayed at during our honeymoon. Quiet, elegant, and spacious, it was a welcome respite from the unusual heat wave in late May of 2005. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Elegant, serene, and spacious, this was a lovely hotel, and we had a large, magnificently appointed room. The only 'negative' might be its location, which is in the Santa Croce district, a bit of a walk (10 minutes) from the sights. However, Florence is so small, that this rarely posed a problem.

I like the property and would stay there again. However, for some poeple with slight physical limitations or who are older there are some rooms that they might not want to stay in ans there are some steps. In the room we occupied we had to go down 5 narrow steps from the bedroom to the bathroom. For some that might not be easy to do at night.

A elegany but excentic hotel full of antiques. It feels more like staying in someones country home rather than a hotel due to the layout and furnishings. In a city like Florence it is a nice change.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and on request recommended local restaurants to us as well as booking advance tickets to museums. They were very obliging and helpful during our stay.

A small and quiet hotel, well situated for all the sights of Florence but away from the main tourist area. Interesting and quirky rooms and excellent breakfasts and service from the staff. It was recommended to us and we would definitely recommend it to others.

We had a nice room however our window was so high up that we really could not see out although there was no view from the window. A window with a view would have been nice, and if I return I would request that. Also the bathroom, while large and spacious, was 'downstairs' about 4 stairs which was rather incovenient at night in the dark. I was really afraid of falling.

The property looked lovely on the website but the pictures didn't give full justice to how antique and old the rooms were, so it was a wonderful surprise when we got to the room.

Old building in typical Tuscan style with antique pieces of furniture and fittings whilst keeping the modern ideal of cleanliness and freshness. Quirky corners of the hotel, in the rooms and frescos in unexpected places.

I asked for a taxi to be arranged to pick us up from the airport & was told I could pick one up outside. This was, in practice, not a problem but didn't seem to match with the description on the website about arranging airport transfer.

1. The bed was often not made until late in the day - this made it difficult to take a 'siesta'.
2. The pictures of the bedrooms on the website all seem to relate to suites (or were of a lot higher standard than the 'deluxe' room we had) - it would be better if this could be made clearer.
3. Breakfast was basic & a bit uninispiring
