Our stay at the B&B Limonaia was absolutely wonderful. Julio and Kristina were the perfect hosts and our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and Julio was an excellent guide for the area, even personally driving us to good places to eat and showing us the sites around Florence. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone interested in learning more about the Tuscan region and tasting good Tuscan cooking in a rural community. ... We participated in the cooking class with Donatella and it was a wonderful experience of making and eating Tuscan cuisine. We will enjoy the recipes for years to come. ... It would be good to mention that the drive up to the B&B is very narrow. That kind've caught us off guard and was a little difficult to navigate. For people who may be renting a car, they might want to try to get a small vehicle to make their drive easier. ... A wonderful Tuscan experience, both relaxing and adventurous.

Since we didn't have an international mobile phone to contact La Limonaia when we arrived in Bagno di Ripoli by city bus (and there is a 10 minute walk from the end point of the busline to the property)we were unsure of how to contact Guilio when we arrived. Fortunately, we were given a ride to La Limonaia by a kind young man from Bagno di Ripoli from whom we'd asked directions. Although this situation was no one's fault, and it ended very happily, it could have been a very stressful start to our stay. ... Guilio and Cristina were wonderful hosts - helpful, kind, and generous. Our room and the entire property exceeded our expectations. Everything was beautiful. Our breakfasts were the best we ate in 2 1/2 weeks in Italy. ... Very professional. ... Perhaps I missed this on the website - but we were surprised at the time it took to reach Bagno di Ripoli from the train station by bus, and also by the distance from the last bus stop to La Limonaia. A statement about the advisability of a rental car (which we picked up when we left Florence - but could have had 3 days earlier had we know the distances involved) would have been helpful. Fortunately my husband & I had no difficulty with the walk - but someone with a disability would have found it impossible. ... La Limonaia is an oasis of peace, beauty, and warm hospitality after the hectic crowds of Florence. A rental car is recommended, but not required. Ask Gulio for recommendations on local places to eat -he has great expertise in food and wine and was very helpful. Some of our best meals in Italy were in Bagno di Ripoli!

We were met by Giulio at the Esso petrol station because the approach road to la Limonaia was closed for roadworks. Giulio was very apologetic and helpful even though the roadwork ere beyond his control. We had a wonderful wine and food welcome on arrival ... A fabulous stay, mainly due to the attentive and caring attitude of our hosts ... Car hire a bonus, especially good to have an automatic or semi-automatc, due to terrain. ... Compact and be prepared for shared living quarters in season.Very welcoming and friendly hosts.good for food overs and clture vultures.
