Locanda de' Ciompi is situated in a prestigious ancient building, with the entrance in Piazza de' Ciompi (Ciompi Square). The Ciompi were a Woollen company called "Scardassieri". In the 12th century in Florence, the Ciompi and another company called "Arti Maggiori" (Major Art) were both represented in a corporation called "Corporazione della Lana".
Locanda de' Ciompi obtained it's logo of the ram carrying the flag, from Corporazione della Lana. Thanks to its prime location the centre of Florence can be easily reached in 5 minutes walking distance. In the surroundings of the Inn, there are both the "Verdi" and "the Pergola" theatres and many typical restaurants for Italian food fans. |
