I loved the quaintness of the hotel. The decor of the reception area and breakfast was very lovely, with unique and interesting items on the shelves and art on the walls to examine. The velvet couches were a nice touch, too. The hotel was also spotless, which is the most important thing! ... I would highly recommend the Hotel Azzi to my friends. Also, Carlo (he worked the front desk at night while I was there) was a pleasure!

Very nice greeting by receptionist. ... There was a distinct shabby chic look about our room, perhaps in need of a little bit of paint and plastering but very clean. This certainly did not spoil our experience of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but nice fresh bread. Highly recommended for the shabby chic, true Florence experience.

Had wonderful classical music playing which was exactly in-keeping with the character of the place and a lovely, restful way to arrive after a long journey; could have done with more of that. ... Our room was very quiet, spacious, clean and had a very well equipped bathroom - in fact everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. Staff were very friendly and there was always someone on duty. Was excellent having the little bar there and the wine glass portions were very generous.
It would be nice if they could make more of the terrace as it was a bit run-down/not cared for; this was a shame as it made a wonderful place for breakfast/evening drinks. ... They were very helpful about letting us store our bags in a separate room after we had checked out. ... Absolutly brilliant - very good value for money; great location as so close to the centre but not an incredibly busy street. Very friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable rooms. It helped make the holiday and would definitely stay there again; have already recommended it to friends!

The taxi driver knew exactly where it was, so I had no problem finding it, and the staff was very helpful right from the beginning (something that I found consistent with my stay in Italy). I wasn't really happy with the fact that after a long tiring flight, that there was no lift, and I was on the 2nd floor (which would actually be the 3rd floor in the US). ... My only negative feedback is that the 'mattress' was hard and lumpy -- something was always sticking me in the rib and I had to move around a bit to get comfortable. I don't think I've ever slept in a bed that narrow since childhood, but for a person traveling alone, it was fine (except for the lumps).
The room was clean and I felt secure there. No lift, but I got used to that once my luggage was stowed. ... No lift. There are actually 4 or 5 small hotels that make up this one property, and you are essentially assigned a room in one of them. This is neither here nor there, just additional info. All of these are either on the 1st through 3rd floor (2nd through 4th in US, as the ground floor is not considered the 1st floor in Italy). ... Good location, excellent staff, small but adequate room. For one person traveling alone, it was fine. I would stay there again, but with less luggage this time, as there are a lot of stairs.

Fabulous. Carlo was friendly and helpful! ... Peaceful, clean, comfortable. We had a lovely stay! The staff was always helpful, the place is well located, and our room was quiet and pleasant! ... They had our receipt all drawn up, exactly as laid out in our communications before our arrival, and all we had to do was pay! They were very organized. ... A convieniently located hotel, beautifully clean, and wonderfully safe. We felt very comfortable, and the staff did everything they could to contribute to our stay. The staff were full of good information, and we really appreciated their recommendations of where to eat and go in Florence.

I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. ... I enjoyed my stay and intend to make this my base whenever I visit Florence in the future. ... Very impressed - staff held my luggage for later collection, and also helped with details of transport to Pisa. ... Value for money, clean, friendly, central.

The room was large and comfortable except that there was no chair in it or window, only a locked glass door to a small courtyard. Therefore the room was very dark all day and stuffy. ... A friendly hotel but make sure you get a room with a window that can be opened and gives light to the room.

Although the street the hotel is on may seem quiet, any rooms overlooking it will be extremely noisy at all hours of the day or night - you will need earplugs! No air conditioning. Room 1 was exceedingly large, however was very dark, with a 'view' over the street. The buildings are so tall however that you can only see the building opposite. Excellent shower, however as the bracket didnt tighten, you had to sit on the shower basin to have it... Breakfast was processed, and depended on what time you arrived to what was left. Dont be fooled by the baskets on the tables - they seem to be for rubbish rather than bread!
However if you know the limitations, then the hotel is fine - its clean, and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Its not expensive, and its fairly close to the centre, but its more hostel like than hotel like.

Great location, close to everywhere we needed, but a quiet street. Hotel is lovely, decorated with charm, and the staff are helpful. I did have to ask for a chest of drawers in my room as there weren't any. The staff were a litle surprised by the request, but found a suitable piece of furniture. ... Friendly and relaxed, perfectly located, simple and very charming decor. A little decadent - which appeals to me.
