If you wish to have bad service and little choice at breaktfast and a ***-Hotel at a price that doesn't correlate with the servicec then go there. Maybe that's just most of Italy now, but it's not worth it.

Convenient Hotel but not in the Historic Centre. Next to busy road but great view over square and excellent double glazing. We only paid 80 euros a night. Bargain. Friendly Staff, good breakfast, nice rooms.

Wonderful breakfast!

I would highly recommend the hotel. It was clean, quiet, and just a short walk from the city center. We stayed in three other hotels in central Italy this trip, and wished they were all as nice, and as good a value, as the Malaspina. We had only booked it for one night, but stayed for 3 because we liked it so well.

While a number of buses go to Plaza Indipendenza, it would be very helpful for guests if they are informed of specific buses that stop or pass near the hotel and the specific bus stop.

The hotel's location at that corner location made the room a little more noisy than we would have liked. The room itself, however, was nicely appointed and we were very comfortable. We appreciated being able to open the windows.

Arrived late, taxi from airport so directions not relevant. Reception by night porter.
Disappointed that room smelt of cirgarettes. Maybe we forgot to request non-smoking, or maybe such rooms not available.

Room was a little noisy, being on the ground floor. Arrival staff on the Friday were friendly and helpful but the reception staff over the weekend were indifferent and the man who checked us out on the Sunday was just plain rude.
