Excellent value for money. We are quite a demanding professional couple that like original places to stay instead of generic and sterile hotel chains. This hotel has bags of character, rooms full of character, exceptionally hospitable owner and a fantastic little roof terrace. One thing to consider is that corner rooms can pick up street noise at night - easy fix for deep spleepers and/or ear plugs.

This is a great place to stay in Florence, its personal, cozy, and high quality. The owner/operator Gabriele is a fun guy and loves chattnig with his guests and helping them find their way around the city.

We were walking from the train station, and we got a little turned around. Nobody's fault but our own, we were looking for a large sign and we didn't see the doorway right away. Other than that, it was fine.

We received very personal service. They took us up to the top of the building which they usually have open for breakfast, but not in the winter. The view was amazing. We plan to stay there the next time we get to Florence. We just clicked with Gabrielle the owner. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone who wants to stay in Florence at a bed and breakfast with a personal touch.

The owner alone is worth the visit, especially the apricot tart for breakfast. Room was facinating but would recommend ear plugs for those who are light sleepers as the city is very busy at night.

A facinating B&B, very friendly with comfortable rooms and some of the best coffee in Florence. Handy for all the sights but take the owners advice on where to eat and a good pair of walking shoes, you'll need them!

The proprietor of the Martin Dago Bed and Breakfast was very helpful and polite. His recommendations for restaurants, etc. were great. He called taxis for us and gave us access to his computer for e-mail. We enjoyed our stay in Florence very much.

I think you should let people know they have to walk up two flights of stairs, as some people may not be able to do that.

The room was exactly as pictured on the site and the 360 view was most helpful. Since it does overlook a busy square, there was some noise from the street when the window was open.

Staying at MartinDago was like staying with good friends. I felt very well taken care of. The B&B is in an excellent location - readily accessible by several bus routes (everything is walking distance), near restaurants and shopping but at the same time, you have the real feel of a local Florentine neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable and the remote control A/C worked well. Gabbriele and Sergio are a very gracious hosts and I would definitely stay at MartinDago again.

Very authentic but if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs for the traffic and market noise. Lovely real part of Florence with great cheap restaurants at your door step. Extremely clean and friendly accomodation.

I would have said good value if the shower fitting hadn't been broken.

It is an incredible building and the room was beautiful with a real double bed (hard to find in Europe). The pillows were quite uncomfortable the bathroom was really smelly (old plumbing?) and when we told our host that the shower fitting was broken (it was broken when we arrived), I really had trouble believing him when acted shocked and said he couldn't fix it until we left as there were public holidays. There was no offer of a reduced rate or other solution.
The coffee was fantastic but the pastries were not of a good quality at all. Very sugary and starchy carbohydrates were all that was offered. It would have been nice not to have to buy our own fresh fruit to start the day.
It would be so simple to change Martin Dago B&B into something a bit more special without spending a great deal of money. Just a few finishing touches, keeping the lovely essence that it already has, would make a huge difference.
We had a great time there, the owner was (almost) always very polite, friendly and helpful, the room was amazing and the bed was very comfortable but it just needs a few little changes before we would go back again.

The room was very spacious and clean. We were very pleased with this accommodation and Gabrielle was very helpful. However, there is a very popular wine bar on the square that was very noisy. People were in the streets until the wee hours of the morning (4AM). We had a very difficult time sleeping.

Be sure to let people know about the noisy street. They may want to request a quieter room if available.

An apartment style room with a bedroom loft overlooking the central area. Was a little noisy due to its location near a church and plazza.
