The receptionist had gone to lunch, I believe. We arrived approx. 45 minutes to an hour before her return. I think we were very nearly the only guests arriving that day, and she didn't know the time of our arrival. We weren't upset, although we were very relieved when she arrived. The reception area was locked and we'd been standing in the hallway. We wanted to get our luggage into our rooms and see Florence!

We loved the accomodations. The rooms were new, fresh and clean. They were spacious, quiet, and private. The location was convient. It was great!

That it is NEW and SPACIOUS.

If you are going to Florence, you should really stay at Palazzo Dei Ciompi. Spread out in spacious apartment living while enjoying the sights of Florence and Tuscany. I regret we hadn't planned to stay longer.

The receptionist was especially helpful in providing assistance in seeing that our car was parked in the property parking lot, which had to be accessed from a different street. Driving in Florence turned out to be very challenging! The online directions to the property were helpful, but we still had trouble finding it; and parking on the street was very difficult.

The property was better than expected, due to the exceptional quality of the recent renovations. The furnishings were above and beyond what one would expect to see in a rental property. The only thing which detracted from the quietness and privacy of the rooms was construction in an adjoining building.
We stayed in the Vasari apartment, which was very spacious and well-appointed. But although the kitchen had a coffee maker and microwave, strangely there was no electical outlet to plug them into. We managed to use the coffee maker by placing it on a chair, but a properly located electical outlet in the kitchen is sorely needed.
Also, the clothes dryer was not working during our stay.

'Checking out' involved nothing more than turning over the room keys to the receptionist, because we were asked to pay for the entire stay upon check-in.

We learned on the third day of our stay that Palazzo dei Ciompi is in the restricted 'Centro Storico' area of Florence, meaning that we could be cited for driving our car there. We then mentioned this to the receptionist, who only then took our license plate information to hopefully prevent us from receiving citations in the mail. Apparently, you have to request that this be done when you check in. Since the receptionist was aware of our car (and was helpful in getting it parked as explained above), it seems that this should have been done automatically.

Overall, I would highly recommend Palazzo dei Ciompi's Vasari apartment to any family or group of people visiting Florence. It comfortably accommodated the five of us, and six people would have plenty of room. The furnishings are new and of high quality, and the location is great.

Although I did not get the agreed accommodation, the apartment I got was beautiful,tastefully decorated and had wonderful views. Although slightly smaller, it accommodated our party of 8 people.

I would definately book accommodation at Palazzo dei Ciompi again whilst visiting Florence. The locality was ideal for visiting the wonderful sights and also for shopping. Good restaurants and bars with entertainment were practically on our doorstep.

Staff were very helpful during check out, assisting us with directions to the taxi driver when we were struggling with the language barrier.

The Palazzo has been tastefully and sensitively restored and decorated in keeping with the history of the building - it was absoloutely beautiful. The standard of cleanliness was very high and, as previously mentined - ideally located.

I have already recommended and passed on your brochure to a friend who hopes to visit Florence next year.
The Palazzo has retained its grandeur, it is beautiful and is amazing value for money. It provides all the amenities without detracting from the history of the buildng. It is spotlessly clean and ideally situated. I will definately return

Our voucher stated we would be on the second floor. Our accomodations were on the first floor, outside a courtyard that was extrmely noisy late into the night and started up early in the morning.

Karima was the Manager on duty when we arrived and she was wonderful. Extremely helpful and warm. She was also very helpful during our stay.

If it doesn't say so - I would talk about the fact that it was renovated 6 month's or so ago and the wonderful accommodations inside the units ie., brand new kitchen with all of the modern amenities etc... I would also state it's location in relation to the Duomo/center of the city as it is so convenient to all of the major sight-seeing areas.

Absolutely beautiful - like staying in a 5-star hotel. Wonderful staff, accommodations and so convenient to the town center.

We will again stay at Palazzo dei Compi the next time we return to Florence. It is really a magnificent property and gives value for money.

There should be a staff on duty for guests like us who checked out at 8 in the morning on April 6, 2005. The office was still closed.

Although the staff was helpful, polite and obliging, sometimes there was nobody at the reception, even during the expected hours (9:00-12:00, 14:00-18:30). I understand that Palazzo dei Ciompi is not really a hotel, but I think that a person should always be at the reception, and furthermore for a longer period of time.
Another problem was that it is impossible for someone from outside to call to the room before and after the staff's hours. Since Palazzo dei Ciompi works with the appartments system, there must be a way to call by telephone directly the appartment at any time, day or night.

No one was there. I had to telephone a
person. The problem was my telephone
especially eqipped for Europe did not work.
Thankfully the cab driver called for us. We
had to wait @ 25 minutes for someone to let
us in.

Only one washer on site - and the cost was 5
euros. There was no dryer.
The apt was much larger than I had imagined
and obviosly everything was new. It was very
nice. The location was excellent!
In the future more services available -
internet and fax in recption area etc.
