By Car:
Motorway A1- take the exit Firenze Certosa which is the 2nd exit arriving from ROME ( south ) or the 3rd exit arriving from Bologna (north). Follow the directions for Centro (city center) which will lead you to Porta Romana. Pass through the old gate onto Piazza della Calza, to ask a free pass at the local police station, located on the right side of the square. Than take Via Romana and turn at the 5th street on the left, Via delle Caldaie, and after 50 meters you will find Piazza Santo Spirito on the right. The apartment is at number 16, just above the newsdealer on the corner.
By Train:
The Santa Maria Novella station is about 1,2 miles from the Althea. On foot the shortest route is through Piazza Santa Maria Novella and Via dei Fossi, than cross the Carraia bridge, take via dei Serragli and turn on the left in Via Sant'Agostino at the 2nd traffic lights.
By Bus (ATAF) from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station:
Bus 11, 36 and 37. Get out from the train station through the main exit and reach the platform down the steps in front of the gardens. Bus n 11, 36 or 37 follow the same path, you must get out at the 2nd stop after the CARRAIA bridge and than take VIA SANT'AGOSTINO from the traffic lights. After a 3 minutes walk you will find PIAZZA SANTO SPIRITO on the left.
By Plane:
Florence's Amerigo Vespucci (PERETOLA) Airport is 7 km from the center of Florence, and a taxi costs approximately 20 Euro to reach PIAZZA SANTO SPIRITO. |
