Poggio al Sole rests on a 450 m hill, 6 kilometers from Fiesole in a locality called Torre di Buiano. There are several ways to get there, but the choice depends on the amount of tours you wish to make and where you want to go, besides the time you have available. |

By Air: once at the Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport (15 km), you can reach the center of Florence by taxi, city bus, or rented car (there is a terminal at the airport). Otherwise, we can come and pick you up there. For intercontinental arrivals and departures, stopovers in Pisa are necessary the city is well connected by frequent trains that reach Santa Maria Novella in an hour.
By Train: you'll arrive at the main railway station, Santa Maria Novella. The bus n° 7 has its terminal at the main entrance. Buy your ticket (€1) before boarding the bus, which will take you to the main square in Fiesole (Mino Square) in half an hour. A smaller bus, n° 45, takes you to the fork at "Torre di Buiano" in 15 minutes, but if you don't know the schedule, you may have to wait too long. Please call us to pick you up at Mino Square. Coming from the South of Italy, you can get off the train in "Pontassieve", where we will come and pick you up.
By Car: from Highway A1 - exit "Firenze Sud" - Fiesole is indicated by blue signs, in the direction of the Stadium. From the other three exits ("Firenze Nord", "Firenze Certosa" and "Firenze Scandicci") and from the freeways "Firenze-Siena" and "Firenze-Pisa-Livorno", follow directions for "Viali Circonvallazione"/Center/Stadium, then for "Fiesole", which is about 5 km from Florence.
From the main square in Fiesole, follow directions for "Olmo" and "Borgo San Lorenzo". The road becomes the n° 54 "dei Bosconi", and runs along the hills and the panoramic valley of the "Mugnone". At the 6,7 kilometer, in "Torre di Buiano", opposite a small stone parish church you'll see the small entrance in "Torre di Buaino" road. After about 200 meters, follow directions for the parking of "Poggio al Sole". |
