Paola greeted us and showed us to our room. She also provided a map of the city and gave a few suggestions for places to eat.

Our stay at Residenza Proconsolo was amazing. We can't wait to return. The location was central, our view of the Duomo was beautiful, and our room charmingly decorated. The staff was very helpful (they loaned us a knife, corkskrew, plate and glasses for the wild boar salami and wine we purchased in Greve during our Chianti tour and gave us directions to a bakery to buy some bread.) Our room was immaculately cleaned everyday by a lovely woman who made the best cappuccino.

Roberto kept our bags for us after checking out for a couple of hours while we finished up some shopping.

Residenza Proconsolo was wonderful. It was like it was our own private vacation residence fully equipt with our very own private staff.

We were extremely pleased by the comfort and familial feeling of the Residenza Proncosolo. The owners and staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Our stay there was absolutely perfect.
As we were unsure about the finding a hotel only by website, the property turned out to be better than expected. Who would have guessed to have full sized jacuzzis in the rooms? The Residenza is absolutely beautiful and Paola and Roberto treated us like family. The location was excellent, too. Everything was within walking distance and perfectly safe.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Florence. It felt like a combination of luxury and home. Perfect for romantic getaways or with the whole family. We were 12 people, using 5 of the 7 rooms. It was excellent in every way.

The room photos in the web site are very good. It would facilitate the users room selection if the name of the specific room was included with the room photo.
It would be very good to include the name of the owner or hostess somewhere in the information. They are clearly proud of their property and the quality of their hospitality. I will always think of our hostess whenever I think about Residenza Proconsolo.

Residenza Proconsolo provides a high level of privacy as there are no public rooms where you will mingle with other guests. This was exactly what we wanted. This 15th century structure has been successfully adapted fot the expectations of the 21st century traveler.
I am a former innkeeper and appreciate their evident attention to detail for guest comfort and needs and their unobtrusive hospitality. As to convenience with respect to all that there is to see & do in Firenze it is hard to imagine a better location.

They were ready for us and so helpful! We came with a lot of heavy luggage and he insisted on carrying it up the stairs for us.

I can't remember if it stated that they had a computer available that was connected to an internet cafe so we could access email for a nominal fee. That was a very nice surprise.

I would highly recommend it because of it's location (near the Duomo so if you got lost, you could just look for the famous landmark and always find your hotel). Plus, the luxury of having a bathtub and significant amount of living area in our room made it much nicer than other hotels I've stayed in during past European vacations.

The small hotal was a great value for money. We had a very plesant stay (total 6 nights). The room was spacious and the air conditioning functioned well (extremely important in Florence's summer). In July Florence is hot at noon. We were able to return to hotel for a nap when the sun was high, thanks to its location. Breakfast, served in-room, was very good too. The maid (I forgot her name) was very helpful and especially recommendable.

An amazing place. We arrived about 11pm and spoke to the receptionist - who happened to be the lady owner. She was extremely polite and spoke fantastic English. She had been baking earlier on in the evening and offered us chocolate cake for breakfast.
Breakfast was served in the room and we could have absolutely anything we wanted. We had a twin room as I was with my mother - it was lovely and spaceous, and the bathroom was beautiful - we had a jaccuzi in ours!
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

We want to thank you again for making our recent stays with you so enjoyable. From your first greeting to our last farewell, we had the feeling of being with special hosts in a special residence.
The Brunelleschi Room was spacious and comfortable with every amenity we needed. Breakfast in our room was especially welcome and satisfying. While standing on the balcony, we felt part of the life of your wonderful city.
After our three-day stay with you, we traveled to Siena for three days. When we returned to La Residenza Proconsolo for another two days, we believed we were coming home. Creating a feeling of being home for the guests is a challenge for innkeepers, and you have certainly succeeded in achieving this goal.
Thank you again for your restaurant recommendations and arranging for a taxi to meet us for our 6:00 a.m. departure. We hope to return to experience your hospitality in the near future.

La Residenza Proconsolo was everything we could ask for in accommodations--spacious room and bathroom, beautiful view of the Duomo from the Brunellseschi balcony, easy access to museums and restaurants, but most important of all was the helpfulness and friendliness of Roberto.
His advice and recommendations on any subject we could raise made our stay in Florence extremely enjoyable.
We stayed at La Residenza for three nights, then spent three nights in Siena. When we returned to La Residenza for two additional nights, we had the feeling of coming home. Roberto has succeeded in presenting excellent accommodations with friendliness.
We are already making plans to return to La Residenza Proconsolo.

This was a wonderful experience. I don't know if the sight mentions the bells of the Duomo but they are close by, clear and absolutley wonderful to listen to.
Everyone of the staff was courteous and helpful. I would gladly stay here again and am more than happy for you to share these remarks with Residenza PRonconsolo.

The location of the Residenza is ideal as you're in the heart of the town, but yet it is still a quite street.

I would describe it as a true bed and breakfast. We had an opportunity to acquaint ourselves quite well with the management of the Residenza and they were extremely helpful in helping us get around. They absolutely made a difference during our stay.

This was a wonderful place, clean, comfortable and perfectly located for the museums and galleries. The owners, Paola and Roberto, were as helpful as could be. We would not hesitate to recommend it to others. One tiny flaw was the traffic noise but you have to accept that sue to teh location.

It would be helpful to those arriving by car to mention the restrictions on parking in central Florence, and the arrangements for parking a car near the Residenza Proconsolo. Roberto was very helpful in this regard, but it would be even better to prepare prospective guests by including a few words on the web site.

Very well located, you'll be welcomed by the owners, Paola and Roberto, with a warm fiorentine smile, as if you are receiving a guest in your own house. They are of great help on finding a good restaurant (not the most turistic, neither the most expensive), showing great concern towards your confort and even your health!

Because Florence is a very difficult city to drive into, we were lead to believe parking was available nearby. Guests should be given explicit instructions either how to enter and park in the core area or that they need to park on the outskirts and take a taxi in. This was our only bad experience about Florence. Luckily, (after an hour) we found a local on the outskirts who was willing to call a taxi for us after much driving around.

Bathrooms very well appointed including whirlpool baths and showers.

Great architecture, lovely room that was very large. Such a clean tub, I took a bath (don't usually feel good doing at hotels). Although it faced the street, with a view of the Duomo, the double windows and shutters kept the room very quiet and we slept great! Nice warm croissants and capuccino brought to our room in the morning. Loved it.

The Accomodations were excellent - the building and our room in particular were beautiful.Breakfast in the room every am, wonderful bathroom. Only minus was how noisy it was outside on the street at night - even with the windows closed and the shutters fully closed. But I guess that's common for anyplace in the center of the city with a room that opens onto the street.

The website says there is an internet connection, but we were unable to connect without having an Italian dial-up service provider. I must say, although unsuccessful, the hotel staff made a very good effort in trying to help us obtain a connection. Other hotels we stayed at in Italy had internet service connections available in the room (for a nominal fee).
