A. Rayan Palace Bed & Breakfast in Firenze was clean and courteous. The location was great since we needed access to the train station. Mario and his staff were very helpful. Only draw back was that there was no elevator.

We were unable to open the window at night due to outside noise. We had a pool of water in the bathroom from a leaky pipe which the hotel were aware of and tried to fix without success.
Breakfast was very basic and cappuccino only available when the person who knew how to work the machine was in the hotel, this equated to once in our 7 night stay.

Can be a bit noisy as the bus station is nearby.
The hotel can help to reserve museum/gallery tickets to save queueing.

Central and good value, the hotel had been refurbished and the room was very nice. We received a warm welcome and the staff were helpfu and friendly. Would go back due to the train station and bus station being nearby(despite noise)as this was a bonus and meant we could venture further and explore tuscany under our own steam without having to be couped up in a car missing the beautiful countryside.

The breakfast was horrible. They actually served rice cakes in plastic wrappers. The only complaint we had were the stairs. No one to help up with our luggage, everything else was adequate. Maybe a two star, not a three. I also has a problem with the shower drain, and it was never fixed, so I had to stand in a pool of water

I wanted to change my towel and dump every day.
I think they had to explain about the seacret key when I check in.
I didn't know about it, when I came back lately, I had to call receptionist.
maybe she slept......
I think receptionists need smile....

Clean comfortable room, we had requested 2 beds,what we got was 2 beds pushed together and one set of sheets between them.Not exactly what we wanted.

As we made our reservation in November 2003 the owner kind of 'forgot' about us so we only spent the 4 first nights in Rayan Palace and the next 3 in Relais Perla (same owner and very close) which is a higher standard so eventually everything was fine (but needless to say I got a little stressed out at first ...)

The street where Rayan Palace stands is quite noisy (lots of buses going to and coming from the station and busses terminals), but the hotel itself is really nice. Breakfast could be a little more filling to my taste ...

There was no one at reception and someone came up to meet us after a minute.

Staff not very friendly. A good morning or good evening would make all the difference but sadly this was completely absent from the hotel.
I was a bit concerned re safety issues since outsiders could easily get in as most of the time there was no one at reception and the door was left unlocked.

Near the train station and as such convenient for rail travellers. Also only a few minutes walk from the city centre.
However staff lack simple hospitality courtesies, such as greeting guests. Also the breakfast was very limited.

The phone system was terrible and although
the receptionist was nice during check in I

We had booked for two double bedrooms. One room given to us was fine with a double bed. the other appeared to be a larger single and clearly not a Double !
THe price included breakfast. We were told that breakfast would ONLY start at 8 am in the morning and the hotel was unable to accomodate us with a breakfast half an hour earlier even with advance notice even when we had a train to catch.
