 The surroundings have a lot to offer: within walking distance, the most important and interesting site nearby is Piazza del Carmine, with Church del Carmine and the Brancacci Chapel, where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful frescos by Masaccio and Filippino Lippi. Nearby Piazza Santo Spirito with the church (that have its same name) holds an amazing wooden Christ made by Michelangelo, and Palazzo Pitti with its galleries, the famous Boboli Gardens and PonteVecchio. On the other hand, there is Piazza Tasso with its baby park, or where you can arrange a soccer derby with the residents, or simply rest under the trees. Driving along the tree-lined Viale Machiavelli and Viale dei Colli you will easily reach Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy a full view of the city and San Miniato Church, one of the finest monuments in Florence. The surrounding area has everything you might need. There are parking, laundry facilities as well as typical and unforgettable restaurants and café. The electric bus stop (line D) for the historical centre is about 50 meters away. There are also open markets and stores of every kind. You can also rent bicycles to visit the city like a true Florentine. |
