There is much room for improvement in the breakfast coffee, also!

The difficulties and expense of parking a car in Firenze centre should be stated on the web-site. The fact that River Hotel does not have a garage of its own should be mentioned.

A clean, friendly and up-to-date hotel. Exellently located for central Firenze (12 minutes walk). BUT don't arrive by car if you are staying for more than, say, two days.

Florence was such a beautiful city. The architecture was amazing and it was nice to be able to look forward to returning to our hotel due to the location and beauty. It really enhanced our experience.

This is an excellent hotel. The accomodations were fantastic, the people helpful and friendly, and the location is perfect for site seeing. Hotel River was the best hotel out of our 4 week stay in Italy and France. We would stay there again and will tell all our friends about Hotel River

Truly enjoyed the Hotel River and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I have stayed at some 5 star hotels that were not nearly as comfortable and welcoming as Hotel River.
Also, the breakfast was very good and the portions and selection were very good.

They were very helpful and couldn't be any nicer. The gentleman took us to our room and took our luggage for us.

We were very lucky to be there during a fireworks display and the hotel gave out snacks on the rooftop terrace during the show. Breakfast had a large selection. The only thing we didn't expect was we had two twin beds put together and expected a double bed and could have used another pillow.

When our card would not work, the gentleman at the hotel drove us to a ATM, instead of us having to walk. A+ all the way.

The rooftop terrace is wonderful. Get yourself a bottle of wine and watch the sunset. They also have curtains on the windows that totally block out the sunlight so you can get a good nights sleep without the sunlight waking you up.

Clean rooms-decent size. Bathroom with a bidet-decent size. Beautiful rooftop terrace and wonderful staff. Breakfast was very good-lots to choose from. Ten different kinds of tea. Very nice courtyard to relax after a long day of walking.

Hotel River provided a most comfortable and quiet accomodation in a nice section of Florence. The proximity to the bus stops is important and it is a pleasant walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizzi and historic areas. We will definitely recommend Hotel River to our friends and plan to return on our next trip abroad.

We found the facilities and services to be excellent. We requested a top floor room overlooking the river some months prior to arriving and were very pleased such a room was available to us on arrival. We styaed at 6 hotels over a three week period in Europe. The consiege at the Hotel River was the most informative and helpful. We would certianly reccomend this hotel.

The only thing I did not understand was the
issue with the passports. The hotel needed to take some information down. I understand this is standard procedure, but this was unclear to us; but was not a big issue.

The hotel was good because it was central, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. My one complaint was the coffee at breakfast was not good and we pointed this out to the receptionist who immediately provided us with a delicious cup of Italian coffee from the bar!

Glad we took a taxi - I feel sure we would have found it difficult to get there on foot by public transport especially as our italian is non-existent!

Although overlooking the Arno, close to the tourist coach drop-off point the property was very quiet.

Well run, well presented accommodation in 'modern' traditional style. Staff not unduly fussy but well able to help and offer advice if asked. Just at my 'limit' of walking distance to historic centre but gain that extra 'quietness' especially at night.

Chieck in was smooth, the front desk staff person wonderfully welcoming, and offered great advice on getting around. Numerous front desk staff went out of there way to assist us with an airline issue....they were great!

Lovely hotel, a bit farther off the main attractions than I would prefer. Most of the staff is wonderful, and go out of there way to helpo you, problaby the nicest hotel staff I have ever dealt with, (and we travel alot!!!). The man who works nights is grumpy though.
