From the moment we got out of the taxi to the point we were taken to our room everyone from the doorman to the manager greeted and welcomed us. We were given a welcome glass of wine, were not rushed in any way and were shown to our rooms, our bags already there. A lobely tray of fruit dipped in chocolate was there along with soft drinks in the fridge.

They were extremely helpful. Having arranged to have an early breakfast, we slept in missing our train to the airport. They organised our taxi to the airport and set a table for breakfast so we could relax before going.

The fabric of the building and the furnishings and lighting are beautiful and I don't think it comes across as well as it could on the website.

I found the hotel absolutely wonderful. It is beautifully renovated and furbished and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. It was a joy to stay there. It is in an excellent location for the city and I would certainly go back and would recommended it to friends and family. A little bit of paradise in a an already beautiful city.

I would only add that there is no clear indication on the outside of the building that it is actually the Relais Santa Croce hotel (i.e. no Name on the door!) so it is a little bit confusing upon arrival!

Everything was absolutely great; extreme attention to detail & incredible decoration plus quality of equipment and luxury in bed linen, towels, etc. Made our Christmas unforgettable!
The food & service at the restaurant on Christmas Eve were also splendid; we didn't expect it, as it wasn't exactly 'crowded' with people, but everything was delicious. Really recommend it!

The only issue we thought was not up to the standards of the hotel (which doesn't mean bad - just not so good!) was breakfast. We missed some more variety of the 'salty' offer on the buffet (bread was not too great, only 2 types, no eggs), as most of it was sweet (the cakes were nice but maybe even too much variety on that side!!!). Coffee could improve a lot (we really missed good coffee, being from Spain, and expecting it to be great in Italy!).

It was like a beautiful castle from a fairy story - somewhere 'unreal' where you were so well taken care of, that going back to real life after your holiday is tough work!!!
