I ordered a triple and the third bed was a VERY uncomfortable pull out couch. I thought a triple meant 3 regular beds and it was not made clear in the communication that it was a pull out. Other then that we really enjoyed the hotel. ... great breakfast!

We were greeted, in our native language, very courteously. ... Our recent stay at the Hotel Santa Maria Novella was stellar in every way. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are spacious. The location is ideal. The breakfast is elegant. The staff was amazingly kind, considerate and helpful. When in Florence, we will never stay anywhere else. It was perfect.

No sign indicating the hotel, just a small plaque on the entrance.

We had a wonderful stay at your hotel. It was everything we were hoping for, and more. All your staff were so helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay a good one. I would recommend the Hotel to my friends and colleagues, and I hope, someday, my wife and I can come back again. You have to state better how to get to the Hotel from the train station - we had to ask directions, but then we found it easily. ... We rented a car during our stay. It was always delivered on time and we never worried about it. Your staff took care of its arrival and departure when we were through with it for the day. My only problem was access to my e-mail from our room, but your staff let me use their computer, and I was able to keep in touch with my work. ... Everything was organized and ready for us - we didn't have to wait for anything. We did indeed have a wonderful stay. ... How wonderful and spacious the rooms are. ... My wife and I would describe it as a wonderful, romantic place to stay to relax and get away from the stress of everyday life. A definite place to stay while in Italy!

We loved the Hotel Santa Maria Novella. It was our favorite hotel in Italy, and it far exceeded our expectations. Our favorite was the room - spacious, cool, and beautiful, plus with a fantastic, new bathroom. Also, the breakfast was outstanding. I'm ready to return to Florence just to stay at the hotel again!

We were to have a double superior room but were given a double and told it was a double superior. It was next to the construction (they are adding 25 more rooms to the 45 they now have)which was very loud and the air conditioning did not work. We asked for a different room after finding all this out but were told there was none. My husband asked to talk to the Manager and finally did. The next day we were put into a beautiful double superior room away from the construction with air conditioning that worked and stayed there for the remaining 3 nights of our stay. ... Once settled into our new room, we could enjoy all the amenities which were many. The room itself was beautiful and ample facing the plaza with a large shower which was fine for us. The bed was comfortable, the room had a plasma TV and robes and slippers. The room was made up of course when we were out but also the bed was turned down before we returned for the evening.
The breakfast was the best we had in Italy. There were three separate rooms of tables, not at all crowded with a small card on each table giving us the weather report for the day. There was one very large table set with different juices, dry cereals, yogurt, fresh whole fruit, fresh cut up fruit such as kiwis, strawberries and melons. Also stewed prunes, meat and cheeses and coffee cakes and many other breakfast items. Another table had excellent scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants and small bread rolls. Coffee was served in individual pots including decaf at your table. The wait staff was always accessible and the food was excellent. ... Initially we were charged an additional 100 Euros per night but when we showed a copy of our confirmed reservation, the bill was adjusted. ... We loved this hotel and its perfect location. The staff suggested Buca Mario, a restaurant very close by and it was wonderful and one of the very best. We walked everywhere comfortably and enjoyed this hotel more than any other during out visit to Italy. ... Excellent choice if you stand up for whatever accommodations and price was confirmed to you.

The hotel was lovely, although a little frilly for my taste. The beds were comfortable, although the king size beds were two twins pushed together, so there was a crack down the middle of the bed, which is important for some people to know. Also, while some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, some were more stuffy and reserved.

the hotel was well equipped and extremely welcoming. the only factor spoiling it was that buildings next to it were covered in scaffolding so the views were rather restricted ... If the scaffolding is going to be there longterm, this should be mentioned ... Stylish elegant, friendly

After check-in, there should be someone to take you to your room. The hotel is big and rambling with several lifts. ... More TV channels should be made available in English/American and French ... there was no-one there to say goodbye which left us with the feeling a little of being uncared for. It's a small thing but client appreciation will often bring clients back. ... You can hear people walking past the door which takes away from the sense of privacy. ... Nice place to stay. Convenient.
