By plane: The Peretola or Amerigo Vespucci airport is only 9 kilometres from Soggiorno Matilde. This air terminal welcomes flights from Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, and many other cities in Europe on a daily basis, along with domestic services other airports within Italy. There are buses to the central station in Florence and then you just have to walk 7 minutes up to the property.
By car: As you leave the airport in the outskirts of Florence, continue along Vialle delle Idee and turn left at Via Generoso Patrone. Drive onto Via Madonna del Piano, and after leaving the town of Sesto Fiorentino behind, go along the first exit at a roundabout, into Via Pier Paolo Pasolini. Take your left into Via del Termine, then your right again and drive along Viale 11 Agosto. You will soon come to Florence, where you must take Via Sestese and veer right at Via Reginaldo Giuliani. Afterwards continue along Piazza Dalmazia, Via Filippo Corridoni and Via del Romito. Go all the way round Giardino Della Fortezza until the crossing with Via Cosimo Ridolfi, where you have to veer right. After Piazza dell`Independenza, take Via Nazionale up to number 17. (This journey will take you around 20 minutes).
By train: Santa Maria Novella central station is only 500 metres from Soggiorno Matilde: the owners of the property advise you to walk directly to the inn (if you take a bus from the station, it will have to go all the way around the historical centre, while the inn is only 7 minutes on foot). As you exit the station, go across the road and veer right; after you walk by a Mc Donald`s store, take your left into Via Nazionale. Stay on the left side of the street and you will see the building of Soggiorno Matilde on number 17, right in front of Atlantic Palace Hotel, past Hotel Sempione. At Peretola terminal, take the interurban bus that goes up to Santa Maria Novella station. If you buy a flight to Rome, get on the trains going to Florence -they depart from all of the stations in the capital city and take around 1 hour and a half to reach Florence-. |
