very helpful and friendly on all accounts ... would certainly recommend this to anyone there was plenty of hot water but the showers were extremely difficult to use and impossible to acxtually have a shower without flooding the bathroom this is the only negative thing! ... They allowed us a late check out on one of the rooms which was very helpful ... A mention should be made of the wonderful gardens with perhaps a tour offered to any guest who would be interested. This was one of the highlights of my stay there ... Elegant, historical. Magnificent views, fabulous gardens and definitely not to be missed

When you arrive, you can't help but be amazed how well this property is maintained. ... I wish we had more time to explore the property. This was our first trip to Florence. ... To escape the bustle of downtown Florence, retreat to Torre di Bellosguardo. It emanates a soothing, relaxing atmosphere to be enjoyed after you have spent your day dodging scooters and taxis in downtown Florence. A peaceful sleep is guaranteed. ... The property was lovely and the views were superb. The hotel was absolutely beautiful but I think the furnishings in the rooms could be nicer. I love the idea that all of the furnishings were old, but they still could be nicer. ... As I stated above. But I would recommend it to anybody! We really enjoyed our stay there.

If we could have had a breakfast at reasonable cost, everything would have been perfect. With 5 people at 20 euros each, this was not possible. I could not even get coffee. We had to wake up each day, walk down to town to get breakfast. A small buffet or at least coffee should be available. ... Perfect location--outside of the city but close enough ... Unique, exquisite property with spacious rooms, incredible views and meticulous gardens.

I wish we had stayed longer- it was magnificient! The corner room over looking the pool the gardens and the city of Florence was unforgetable! The coffee and breakfast servers were delightful. Walking down through the gardens into the city was perfect for us. Our only complaint was finding it- we did arrive at night- signs are hard to see- had to call twice, but once we were there forgot about the hassels we had. Truely a magical stay!

If you arrive late and you're weary from travel, be forewarned that the only food available at the hotel is store-bought microwavable pasta dinners, and there are no restaurants in close (walking) proximity. Also, the walk down the path to the city is a little longer than I expected and the hike up is fairly brutal after a long day of sightseeing. Taxicabs are worth it, but you have to get a restaurant (or the hotel) to call one for you. ... The views of Florence and the surrounding hills are unsurpassed. The castle ambience is unique, with quite beautiful frescos and gardens. The service, however, is spotty and not very accomodating for the price. We were put in a smaller room and then moved to a suite after two days. We had no heat. An effort was made to provide heat, it failed. When we mentioned this to the desk person in the morning as we were chekcing out, he was quite terse with ``Madam, the heat works automatically.'' It didn't for us. We felt some type of adjustment -- even one euro -- should have been made to the rate, none was. And the response was a cold one (n pun intended). ... Too formal; rarely saw any staff except at front desk. Nobody inquired at anytimne whether we wanted or needed something. I have stayed at five and four star hotels throughout the world and received more attention. It indeed is a beautiful hotel and site, but lacks personal warmth.
